Default Stage 2 prep mods?

Hey all. Got a (mostly)stock GT here that I'm getting ready
to mod up in preparation to put in a Stage 2 when it's
available. Only moddding I've done is the removal of the first
silencer inside the airbox, and swapping the OEM air filter
for a K&N. I'm looking for any suggestions or additions to
the list I have below of good mods to do in anticipation of
putting in a Stage 2.

One note. Since I do live in California, I'm working under
the assumption that Mopar will do the right thing and
get the S2 mod CARB approvals. I would assume that if this
does not happen, anything I add in would still be a good
addition to the GT even without the S2.

Keep in mind that the Stage 2 upgrade calls for a 2 1/2" catback exhaust for optimum HP and the BTG exhaust is only 2 1/4". I have that exhaust and it is Awesome, but when I go to Stage 2 I will have to go with the 2 1/2" catback exhaust. I won't be able to use the BTG exhaust. I'm thinking of only going with just 2 1/2" pipe with a resonator. Might be a little loud for some people, but I'll love it. Besides, a turbo needs a flow through exhaust....Liked your other mods. Kind of looks a bit like my wish list.

Nice list and welcome to the forum. Have you given thought to performance tires? I don't see the stock rubber grabbing much pavement with the S2 muscle. I put Yoko AVS's on my stock GT, and the grip difference is night/day.

Yeah, I'm planning on putting in a 2-1/2" exhaust at minimum,
and will put a 3" in if I can find one that doesn't break
my budget. I'll have to go chat with the guys over at the
PT Tuning store, since they're a 5 minute drive away.

As far as tires, I'm gonna stay with the stock rubber for
right now, but will probably upgrade to Yokohamas in the
future. Tires are one of those things where it seems to
be a bit harder to find the "best" thing to put on, since
everyone's tastes come more into play. I'll probably think
about new rims at the same time.

I'm in Cali and I have Stage 1 and love it. As for the 3" exhaust, you can run 3" pipe from the Cat back to the stock high flow muffler for about $100.00, at least that's what the price is down here in San Diego. I have 2.5" pipe from the Cat to the muffler and it cost me $85.00 and the benefit was a noticable gain in my top end. I also bought the BTG muffler which has a nice sound, but was a bit too much for me, so I took it off. Based on the recomendation of the local exhaust expert, I will try a Dynaflow muffler ($85.00) and see how that goes.

I have a 2.5" custom system going through a 1 in 2 outlet Magnaflow. I like it a lot.
3" pipes are a squeeze especially if you have lowered your car... There is not much clearance when u have eibachs...just need to think ahead on that one...
