NP, but I have a problem with the graphs they don't match my readouts per say. The fine divisonal graduations in the graph don't make sense. By this I mean the coarse divisions are in increments of 50, and the fine divisions should be in increments of 10 each. Take a look at the 256 Trq figure it should be 280 which matches my readout chart e.g. baseline lean. But from looking at it, the max Torque was 256ftlbs, other than that I'm okay with it. It appears that I wasted money on the 2.5" exhaust so far, or it may have accounted for the reason that the K&N added so much.[:I] My plugs were gapped at .048 I took them out they were all gapped at .050. FYI changing the plugs is scary, because of that sensor on the LH (facing the car) of the manifold, and that sensor that goes into the turbo airpipe.

Yeah, be careful of that MAP sensor, or chanigng your plugs will get about 40 bucks more expensive. My advice is to remove it when changing the plugs....I broke mine the first time I did a plug change. It comes out pretty easy with 2 torx bolts, and then you just put it back in when you're done.

You ain't really crazy, that's good info. That thing has break me all over it. I got a set of torx tips from Sears when I was picking up the Old Folks tools box, the tips cost me $8.00. And the first thing that I used them for was to remove the MAP sensor so that I could get to the plugs.

Operator error

Re"what is your macster mod?"

Someone told me to
"yep grab the wastgate and crush the can and bend the rod, and let us know what happens"

And that's what I did, and it guess what it worked. Go figure!

I changed the closed end cone on the K&N to one that is open ended, this allowed me to get the cone end closer to the opening in the wheel well. AMX137 is on to something with his CAI, I would like to get the dyno figures with his CAI installed.

Here is the link to results from the K&N dyno chart on the PT GT typhoon http://www.kandn.com/dynocharts/69-2541TP.jpg
Note the RPM range where the graph starts and where the HP gains are and are not. The most obvious questions are,
Where are the torque numbers and what are they?
Why don't they show what the HP and Torque gains are at the lower RPMs?

On the other hand AirRaid shows both HP and Torque figures. http://www.airaid.com/images/300-138-dyno.jpg (6 HP gain and 18ft/lbs) of torque and most importantly the gains are linear from the low end through the mid range.

You might take a look at the dyno chart for K & N FIKP on the PTGT ---- even more to ponder with Gains from about 3650 to 5800 -5900. In fact traction being the issue that it is, if the primary gain is midrange to upper end that suits me better.

FRM

At 5002RPM

My Baseline PTGT 183.5HP 220 Ftlb torque

K&N Typhoon 185.7 195 Ftlb torque

Macster MOD 196.5 203 Ftlb torque

FPIK on their Base Line PTGT 192.5HP no Torque figures provided on the Dyno Chart. If we take these HP readings as being true, then the FPIK gives you Stage1 like benefits for $233.00

It would be interesting to get real world results with FPIK. I think that IAN-PT is buying one maybe he will give us the scoop.

Cool, it will be interesting to see how it works with your car. Do you have a boost gage installed? If so could you note if there are any changes in your boost with FIPK installed? BTW,I will be checking on drive axle and tranny upgrades $$$ I think that consistantly running low 13's and high 12's will cause problems in one or both of these areas and I want to see how much the fix will cost.
