Default 3bar... top speed?
wondering if the gt is limited at a set speed, or just by the rev limiter?

Well, I have had mine at 122 or so before, but the other day it cut off right at 120.Maybe it's always been 120 and I just *thought* it was 122. Of course, some people on here claim to have gone higher, like 130+. If that's the case, maybe mine cut off due to extended boost times, as I had the thing to the floor for a few minutes straight, and perhaps it forces the car down at a certain point to prevent turbine damage? Hell, I dunno....just speculating.

I've seen 212 km/hr, roughly 130 MPH.

Actually, it is 128 mph. The speedo is a little optimistic.

I have always seen those at 128 MPH. Is it a coincidence that it happens to be an even power of two? (10000000 binary)

OK, I am a capitalist Republican and favour smaller government--so how do we get rid of this governor?

Just a guess here...but the Turbo GT (and alot of other factory "performance" cars) come stock with "H" rated tires. H rated tires are rated for a maximum of 130 MPH. It only makes sence that for liability reasons the factory speed cut-off is going to be below what the tires are rated for.

Also if the auto MFG. doesn't use a little common sence in controlling the top-speed of their products...then the overly heavy-handed Government steps in and invents stupid ideas like 85 MPH speedometers and other nonsence that is usually much more offensive than what the auto MFG. thinks up.

hyracer, right you are cause I still have my 85 mph speedo on my Mustang GT with an honest top speed of 140 mph. Get this, they put on a 2.83 rear end gear for economy but that makes for a completly unreasonable top end!! So they put on an 85 mph speedo!! I burry that thing almost every time I am on the freeway passing some truck!! Of course now they can put top end restrictions via the computer!
