Lightweight!

Anyway, I am not so sure you can just add those HP gains like that. Granted, I am sure there is a cumulative effect, but to a lesser extent.

Me like yesterdays coffee "COLD" if it moves it's too weak!

You may be right, but we do know that we can add the CAIHP, and the S1HP. So if we get the 2.5" exhaust for S2, and get a CAI we can get to 285HP. You know what, ain't but one way to find out?

My thoughts exactly! Speculating and understanding theory is fun, but to just do it and measure it is the only way.

Also, yes, I like my coffee darker than my oil.

G-tech is sending me an analysis/recorder doohickey to get their Competition meter to read the PT's RPM's correctly. "G-tech Pro Competition" is too long and too vague; henceforth, I will refer to is as the "pocket dyno". I will let you know how it progresses so you can pick up one. I should probably order Autotap now, too.

With an accurate weight and drag coefficient entered, it should be very close to a real dynomometer. Does anyone have the definitive, accurate drag coefficient for the PT?

Please keep me posted on how successful that device works. I'll be very interested in owning one. Right now I'm thinking about computer software. It would be nice to have something that plugs into the car and work from the actual data generated by it.

Another thing to think about. If Stage 2 takes us to 265HP, why in the hell would we want to spend $2000-3000 for S3 if it only takes us to 300HP? If they were low balling the target HP, then thats fine. But the price don't match the low ball HP benefit. No way am I going to spend $2 to 3K for 35 HP plus the costs for, labor to put the S3 in(R&R the turbo 8Hrs maybe) the other stuff I can do, for a 3" exhaust system ($300 for a CAT back system including the muffler. But if S3 will get me 350HP or so, count me in, I want more than 35HP for that kind of money. So what is your take on this, O' Wise One!

Well, you know the 300 bhp is without race gas - and the Turbo Toys will still work....

300 CRANK hp should not be hard to come by w S2 I have 244hp and 326 tq at the crank with S1 (estimated with a conservitive 13% drivetrain loss) with some small tweaks to S2 it should be easy to get the magic 300#. But the torque is what I am going to be worried about. I think I am going to invest in some halfshafts..and a clutch...

Okay

I gotta ask, by crank do you mean wheel? [:I] Here I sit wondering, how in the hell do you produce that 244HP and 326 torque figures out of your car? Is that with S1 and "nothing" else added or is that with some secret things added?

On the dyno, I could only get 200WHP and 258 FTLBtorque with S1 and a CAI. Which is approx 255HP. I don't know the figure for the torque loss factor. But thats with an autostick.

I figured my drive train loss on the JBA Dyno to be 21%. But I didn't know whether I should use that same factor for the torque computations also.

I'm with you on the half shafts. I figure $500.00 for the pair.

hmmm....I could swear I replied here already.

Crank = crankshaft, engine w/support accessories that make it run. Also called brake horesepower (bhp).

Subtract transmission loss, generally 20% for autos and 15% for sticks, to get WHP.

Subtract aerodynamic drag and whatever else to get net HP, hence my asking for the drag coefficient to convert the G-tech's net HP to WHP with accuracy. BTW, they asked for my address and such to send to me data collection equipment to get it to work on the PT.

there's some 300hp srt4's out there, and they don't have any "radical" set-ups (stock manifolds, etc).. 300hp should not be too terribly difficult. I might say otherwise in a few months though [B)]
Take a look at some of the the really hi powered turbo cars out there - most of us PT and srt folks have barely left the starting gate [8)]

Hope there will be no problems with the 5-speed gear (Getrag 288). This transaxle is limited: 333 Nm of torque = 246 ft-lbs. http://www.getrag.de/179/179
