I was just reading this thread started by FRM3: http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/...?TOPIC_ID=5832
and noticed that he mentions resetting his PCM after each run due to some funky boost issues he was having. This brought to mind another thread from awhile back: http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/...ms=quick,learn In the 2nd thread 3Bar stated that Quick Learn procedure MAY have to be repeated each time the PCM is reset. This seems to me like it would render any attempts to do any tuning at the track (and possibly at the dyno) useless since you would most likely need to keep resetting after each change. Thus my question to all of you (esp 3Bar) is does not performing the Quick Learn process before going to WOT really hinder performance a lot? Or even worse, would it cause any added long term damage to the trans? Thanks for all your help gang!!! Aloha, Mark |

I found that 3BAR had answered the tech side of this to me.
I thank you for sharing 3Bar. I just wanna know if guys in auto sticks are "unplugen" PCM's as I just installed AMX's turbo to air box mod tonight. Has ANYONE reset an Auto Stick, S1 PCM, for a mod? Did you notice an improvement? Did you Quick Learn BEFORE going WOT, or after, or at all? With the Auto Stick, where is the transmission info stored? In the tranny, or in the PCM? If in the tranny, is it like odometer info? I ask as it is going to be about 5 tonight, so thought I would disconect neg, put battery tender on it and let it go all night, plug the neg. back on and for the THIRD time do the DREADED QUICK LEARN................. Wanting the most out of the mod.
