PVO has changed its name to SRT Street/Racing/Technolgy
just thaught you would like to know. |

So was it first Direct Connection, then Mopar Performance, then Performance Vehicle Operations, and now Street/Racing Technology, or were the first two strictly parts related, and had nothing to do with engineering vehicles?
Also, is Mopar Performance now covered under the umbrella of 'Mopar Parts', or is it still considered a separate division? Just curious.

It's not 'Street Racing', Saki..........it's 'Street / Racing Technology', such as engineering for both the street and the track.Very similar ot the 'R/T' designation, which means 'Road / Track'.

racing should be legal....i'd rather have my kids hit 100 instead of hit the bong. Racing gives kids something to do, and if legalized there could be designated spots that are pedestrian friendly and traffic friendly. And please nobody follow this up with a "it is legal...and there are places like that, it's called the track!" no no no I mean a place when somebody's like hey my car is faster than yours you can be like well let's go prove it RIGHT now at the old warehouses...something to that effect

Programs usually change names when significant administrative changes occurr (not necessarily staff, but remember that the guy that designed our PT now works for "The General").
Name changes are expensive, so I wonder if the change is in lieu of any new significant engineering, or that someone new will stamp his or her brand on the PT performance goodies? Since the PT platform is due to change soon: the release of S-2 may be the end![:I] |

I can not believe you even wrote this. Maybe you rather them hit the wall at 100? Usually the "my car is faster lets prove it right now" is the alcohol talking. How about My car is faster see you Wednesday or Sunday at the track. There are no trees, walls, other cars (unaware of the race), car load of passengers, pedestrians or alcohol etc. at the track. There is organized, safety inspected, stat recorded, safe and sane racing. Losers race on the street! If you are afraid of your child hitting the bong then you should know where they are and who they are with. Maybe they should be tuning their car or doing their home work instead of street racing! |

I 2nd that. Racing SHOULD NOT be legal. And this is coming from a headstrong 20 year old. There are way too many dumbasses that cant even handle not doing burnouts in our hangout lots or "drifting" around corners into curbs, let alone handle a car at those speeds IN TRAFFIC.
What they need to do is open a decent 1/4 mile track in our area. JB, you need to go out to the local meets and meet some of the idiots that would be playing on our hometown streets before you say something like that again.

It all goes back to making it illegal because of the goofballs who screw up a good thing.
cf. cell phones whilst driving. Many of us have enough sense to drive and talk on the phone safely, but there are too many morons out there who cannot and thereby bring this practice into legal scrutiny. cf. guns. Criminals have spoiled it for the legal guy. cf. Mopar warranty issues. I understand Mopar's "as is" policy. Undoubtedly, a few pinheads who blew their stuff up invoked the warranty and DCX probably found themselves paying for more for others' mistakes rather than an actual faulty part. Now we all suffer, thanks to the pinheads. Fortunately, there still seems to be a few dealers who can use good judgement and discretion and exercise the lattitude DCX affords them. DUI? The sooner those people splatter themselves around a telephone pole, the safer the rest of us will be. Kid hits the bong? Beat him with it. Oh, wait, that is illegal now. If you smoke, yet expect your kids not to, quit being a hypocrit, your words are meaningless. You cannot substitute good sense with government; I am for a more anarchistic, survival-of-the-fittest governmental approach. Rome did not survive by passing exponentially more legislation and neither will we. Whatdaheck was the topic? Oh, name change. You have to keep your product fresh and contemporary ("trendy") to create and cater to customer demand. Besides "SRT" sounds more sexy than "PVO". |
