Default we will have to wait longer for the stage II kit

i just got word that the srt-4 stage II kit should be released on april 1st, the PT kits have been pushed back and i don't have a release date yet.

tommy

on the other hand things at Mopar have been reorganized and i think this will be better for the performance parts division. this should help the performance parts come to market quicker. i still beleive the wait will be worth it on the stage II kit.

Hehehe.........the Mopar Calendar strikes again!

Let's start a pool.......$10 each. You guess the date that the PT Turbo Stage II kit will be released, and the closest one to that date, plus or minus, wins the kitty.

I guess we continue to be the poor stepchild. I'm glad Mopar is being reorganized because whoever was running it before must be an idiot. To advertize performance parts in a catalog with no idea of the release date or the cost is totally moronic. [xx(]

MOPAR, definitely needs a reorganization. I had quite a lengthy talk with a Mopar manager at one of tents at the Block Party last year. I asked when they might have a web site that worked properly and would list ALL their offerings with prices and was told "we know we're working on it". I asked why the dealers were not aware of what MOPAR parts were available and why catalogs were not available to them. Answer, "we know we're working on it". I asked why MOPAR would not warranty their parts and by this time I just got a vacant stare. I looked at the rest of the Chrysler folks in attendance and asked if they owned stock in the company and saw heads nodding yes and then told them that MOPAR was costing them money and all of them just kind of hung their heads. I ended the conversation with; How does a company expect to make money if no one knows what your selling? Again vacant looks.
I just saw the Street Essentials catalog at my dealer yesterday they had just received them, their selling them for $3.95. Can you believe it??
Mopar amazes me.

So they'll sell a catalog full of stuff that they can't tell you when you can get?

Trust me, *lots* of companies in the Automotive Industry, including the Aftermarket, do the same thing (put stuff in their catalogs without knowing when they'll have it or what it will cost). They do this to 'float' ideas and guage response, and if it's high enough, they actually sell it.If they get none, they never make it available.

[:I]So you are telling me that a bad business model is the expected norm in the performance business?

Truthfully, when you are in a corporate enviornment it is not good to allow your head to be elevated above the masses, for good or bad. Each reorganization cuts those heads off. Taking a clear stand just puts a nice target on your back for someone to use in an explaination of why things didn't go as well as expected!
(Right now DC isn't doing as well as expected!)

Suprisingly, the company is going back to it's earlier, more successful model of introducing new offerings on a regular basis to get some spark. If they would only treat each model as a market (do something on a frequent, predictable basis to maintain momentum of a line - one added model every two or three years is only exciting to RipVan Winkle).

No, I'm not saying it's expected or should be normal, I'm telling you what I have found out from experience.

We survive on hope for improvement, and justification that we do like our PTs as they are.

Keep that brewski chillin, I may be by this summer.[^]
