Default Stage I boost levels?

Those with stage I only, What amount of boost are you making. I finally installed my boost gauge and I am only seeing about 8psi in fist, a steady 11 psi second through 5th, if I shift very quick I can get about 13psi steady to about 5,000 RPM then it starts to drop off going to 9psi at redline. This sounds kind of low to me. It is about 64/65 degrees outside. I tapped into the brake booster line, which should be a good source? Don't use a plastic tee! []
I know this info is posted somewhere and I did search, but it must be buried in with other topics? LMK
Thanks,ptgtcb

(The only other mod is the amx turbo up pipe to stock box)

Most if not all the posts I could find recommend this location. I also believe the srt-4 is hooked up this way. I could find no posts not recommending this location. Could you point me to a post or explain why this is not a good location for the gauge source.
Thanks

Follow the line that goes into the throttle body back thru the protective heat (silver) covering until you get to the rubber coupler. Cut the rubber coupling and put your tee there. If you stand in front of the car and look at the throttle body you will follow the line which goes back towards the firewall and then curves to your left under the covering, (you'll have to open the covering. Keep going until you get the rubber and cut it there and put your tee there. I also cut a hole for a vaccum access port for the Dyno to tap into.

The above hook up is the way that I did mine. Whether or not, you choose to do it is up to you. It provided a much neater installation and also allowed me to fit in an access port for dyno and diagnostic testing.

the reason why you dont want to use the brake booster hose is for safety issues and legal ones too. if the tee you used being plastic or cheap metal breaks, you will have a loss of boost (no prob) but will also cause a loss in vac. (big prob) no vac. means no assit to power brakes. you fill in the blanks. and explain it to the judge why your pt is now a rectal pacifier in that big rigs ass.

The srt-4's are plumbed this way so I see no reason not to plumb it any other way. My readings are steady and quick and from reading other posts seem accurate. I agree don't use the plastic tee use a metal one! I used a napa p/n 715-1817 GM emission tee. 3/8x 3/8 with 1/4 branch. I really do not see how a metal one could break.

Here is the spot with the temporary installation in place. The boost/vac gage line is inside the black protective covering. The nipple sticking up is the Tee with the vaccum access port sticking out. The current installation has everything under the silver heat shield neatly tied, etc and I have the port sticking out but it's recessed and looks much neater.

Aptly stated. The only thing that you want to do to that line is to install a hose clamp on it where it ties in at the boost cylinder. Tip provided by AMX137
