I think the issue here is that of performance. I'm personally not gonna spend that much money on something that might give me MAX 50hp. IT'll be around $3000 Canadian at a conservative estimate...ummm rip off. I'd rather spend a little more and get a serious T3/T4 setup that could net me over double that in performance. There are numerous companies making these kits for SRT-4's and require very little modification for the GT.

Bottom line...do you want to spend approx. $3000 (CDN) for 50hp or at a minimum 100hp (most likely even MORE) SRT's are dynoing sell into the high 300's with this type of setup...i've made my choice [8)]

No stage 2 for me, like others have said, if S1 was $400, why sould a couple of sensors and a few switches and sprayers for the toys multiply the $$$ X 4. And they want my stock PCM, if they, sorry, because they won't warrenty the S2 PCM, why should I send in the stock, and when the S2 pcm bites the big one the next day, I have to spend $600 or so to replace the S2 pcm, instead of retroing back to stock so I can drive it. Too bad chrysler brought out the PT and not a real car company, Choose any of the others, anything is better than Chrysler!!!!!!!!! I understand the feds came down on them for the BS they pull with dealers and tool companies about their scan tools, and keeping the codes so secret. Sorry I am running on here but I am completely fed up with this want-to-be car company. To all of you here that work for them, this in no way effects my feelings towards you, just the big wigs up top who make these BS decisions.
Big business needs a reality check these days, don't even get me started on my employer. "Can you here me now"

The real debate is: what is a reasonable cost for the Stage 2 kit?

I think $800-$900 is reasonable. (I can hear the boos or crickets now....)

Scott
This I could live with, plus maybe $300 - $400 for the toys

SRT Stage 2 is $999 dealer list without the Toys for those who won't go read the link.

I wouldn't put money on requiring you to turn in your Stage 1 pcm. This may be the Stage 1 "rebate" everybody wanted. Honestly, I don't know either way.

You can buy a nice nitrous setup for like $700 w/ a window switch that controls at what rpms you spray so you dont bust up your engine...Just a thought

My observations of most people that don't have experience with Nitrous usually goes something like this:

"Wow....if I went that fast with a 75-100 shot....I bet I can go *really* fast with a 150-175 shot!Just once won't hurt the engine...."

Famous last words.

Nitrous is not the way to go for those who have no experience with it and need to have a reliable vehicle on a daily basis.

If our good friend 3Bar is correct $999 sounds about right to me without the turbo toys.

Then again, to each its own.

3Bar,
I am in no way attacking you, and I know this is why nobody likes to guess on price and availability, but I was preparing myself for $800 -$900 by your post awhile back guessing the price would be about double that of S1, + toys, but $1000 is a little more than double, and $600 for the toys seem a little steep. Because there are no warrenty issues Chrysler has to worry about, I won't agree with the "cost of R&D", because as soon as I "bolt it on" Chrysler is done with it, it won't cost them a penny if I blown it up or tear it apart. Thank a ton for all the insight you and the others have and still hopefully bring to this and other boards,[|)] but I refuse to pay that much, and truthfully I kind of regret trading in my 02 Touring in stead of getting then Hahn system for it.

Actually, even if S2 was $2000.00, its still more expensive to go with the Nitrous setup. <------ Why did he say that?

cause:

The continuing refill costs ($40.00 a bottle) will eventally take you past the fixed cost of the S2.
