I haven't heard anything that makes me feel like Daimler Chrysler appreciates my loyalty, or even cares if I buy another Chrysler again.
Prescious little has come out of DC that specifically outlines what WILL be in the Stage 2 kit, and what SPECIFICALLY it will do for my PT. Rumors and auto show boards that have proposed kits. Coming soon notices. Rumors that the increased HP needs an exhaust upgrade. Reasonable people do not like suprises, especially when things go south on Price, Performance, and Availability. I am positive that almost any of the aftermarket performance businesses could have put togeather a kit with as much or more to offer, for less money, if they had access to the proprietary programming of the 2.4 Turbo PCM. Daimler Chrysler has specifically held this information to HOLD PRICING as high as the market will bear. Shortages and bad vendors are no more believable than the alqueida/Iraq connection. I just hate being lied to!! |

True!
If the SRT-4 Kit has been released with pricing, why hasn't the PT pricing been released? See post from SRT site. Advertising removed. Read Forum Guidelines please. |

Kirby,
On the exhaust upgrade they proved once again that people on this board, and after market vendors, will offer much better products then they can. Look at that thing ("octypipe"), dual exhaust system offering they have the heart to sell. No offense to those running them. Mexicanpt, I cant remember the other guy (who did this first I think) because he lives on this great tropical island and I am so envious, and any day now, me, will have an exhaust that will blow that away. I just am not getting it on this whole thing from them, while they are bringing the HEMI back so hot and heavy...........

I don't agree on some of the points. MPP upgrades don't come with a warranty. It's an aftermarket upgrade that exceeds the stock specifications. If you want it you buy it. It's your choice.
When they release stage 2 you'll know the price and features. They're not really dangling carrots in front of our noses. If it costs too much or takes too long buy aftermarket. The only negatives I have about DC and this car is the Transmission leak I've had (and continue to have) at the pan, power steering noise, and the "power steering" cooler line that comes loose. How much does a band clamp cost verses a spring type for crying out loud? There's a reason DC offers a 7/70 powertrain warranty. They have had build quality issues for years, and they need to reassure potential customers. I feel like I've been suckered, and I will think hard before I buy another DC vehicle. The design of the PT was a great achievement, but I've never had so many problems with initial build quality. I still love my car's looks, utility, and performance. I'm afraid of the MPP upgrades because I expect the trans to fail, but I might even bite on that too. Fool me once...

ummm...macster, the subaru WRX is WAY more of a car than our GT. About 1 grand US, it will beat the hell out of our "great" stage 2 GT's. You throw a Turbo XS HPBC, and that's it, and it will probably spank our stage 2 GT. The price of Stage 2 is rediculous, and offers minimal gains for the price, atleast for canadians!
Verdict= you can keep your kit mopar

One big difference in the kits you posted for the Subaru....you can buy them both NOW![xx(]
(And either kit shown turns the wrx into a car we can't catch with stage3.) |

Another thing the longer I wait the more money I can save up and buy momma something real nice. So she won't complain, when my little box comes in the mail. Macster
