Default Where's The Beef? Stage II only 250 HP for PT?

Srt-4 265/280* PT GT 250/280* and both these #'s are with the so called *CAT back exhaust! What do the turbo toys offer in the way of HP/TQ improvement?
I was all ready for SII yesterday. Now I am not so sure. This is a very minimal power gain for approx. 1000.00 tax, shipping etc. I have seen 267HP and 305TQ from a WGA, MBC and an in expensive relatively easy to assemble dual stage automatic boost contol system.
Other than an increase of a whopping 15HP what and where are the other "big" improvements made. Where is the over all description or calibration features of SII for the PT GT cruiser?

Where are you getting these numbers? I just checked the Mopar website (http://www.mopar.com/perf_pt.htm) and they're claiming 240/260 for S1 and 265/280 for S2. Heck, after installing S1 you can get up to 250 with a good exhaust and a real nice intake, can't you???

Look again, Mike. Those numbers are for the SRT-4

Decreased performance...250 HP (Vs 265 for the SRT-4)... and achieved with optional Cat-Back (Sold Separetly)... Only 1000.000.... [xx(][xx(][xx(].

Welcome to the orphanage.......

The PT was DCX's "experiment". The SRT-4 benefitted from the engine that was designed for the PT. There won't be too many more years left for PT production (as we know it). DCX pulled the plug on proposed expansion sites for increased production, and is rumored to have severly cut back on the Toluca plant.

I also feel that they have a fair idea that the PT owners have more disposable income than the SRT-4 targeted buyer.

It is all about money.

The future PT is rumored to be riding on a Mitsubishi based 6 cylinder, rear wheel drive platform. All of this is rumor and speculation. When you are subject to the "mushroom syndrome" (fed $h1t and kept in the dark), all you can do is guess.

Like any other kind of relationship, constant uncertainty will cause you to look for a "soft spot" once you relaize that the plan is for you to spend the rest of the relationship beating your head against a brick wall.

Drive=Love. Go sit in a corner and recite that 100 times, and then you will be the perfect DCX customer

YUP! At least I got with those items.

BTW, it looks like there is a bit of disconnect on the site. The Stage1 link gives you 240HP at 5200RPM and 260ftlbs of torque at 2400rpm. Then when you click on the link it gives the correct information. 235HP at 5200RPM and 260 ftlbs of torque at 3600-4600 rpm.

Dalite,
I'm not bashing you, because I feel the same way, but it just doesn't make ANY sense,,,,,,, oh yea, like pulling the sway, horn, lock cyl ect ect ect did.
So why are they sitting on us?
Here is an "H" to use where ever you see fit in this post.

I was already for SII yesterday. Now I am not so sure. This is a very minimal power gain for approx. 1000.00 tax, shipping etc. I have seen 267HP and 305TQ from a WGA, MBC and an in expensive realatively easy to assemble dual stage automatic boost contol system.

And lets not forget (* Optional Mopar Performance Cat-Back Exhaust System (P4510463) required to achieve these power ratings.)

And for $1,600 plus trade in of S1.

Anyone who spends that king of money for 15HP needs their head examined. Hell, with a top shelf exhaust alone you might pull 15HP. Put headers on the damn car and what would that give you. Guess Mopar must think their marketing to a bunch of A HOLES. Well, stick Stage II up your "MOPAR" MORPAR.

More disconnects on the site than just that macster. Link says 265 bhp in little pop-up, page says 250 bhp for PT Stage 2.

Keeping in mind PCM trade-in is total RUMOUR, and Turbo Toys is OPTIONAL for SRT owners.

Either way, changing the power rating is news to me. I'll see if I can talk to TurboG and find out what's up.

Written in black and white in the MOPAR Street Essentials Catalog, page 6 & 7 it states "Stage 1-PT Turbo 235 hp & 260 ft-lbs" and "Stage 2 Turbo Kits for the SRT and PT Turbo give you a power boost of 265 hp & 280 ft-lbs on premium pump gas".
You can download this catalog from the MOPAR web site.

Patience!! It will be here soon. Maybe.
