Default Power shifting?

I know Stages I and II have a boost hold feature,

Do this work only if you powershift?

How does this work?

Any input?

Goodmorning MEXICANPT,

Yes it only works during powershifting and no I can't tell you why it works that way.

But think about it...there is no way you can hold boost on a normal shift because as soon as you let off the throttle to push the clutch in you have already lost turbine speed = lost boost. The automatic equipped cars are programmed to lose torque during the shift to lengthen the longevity of the tranny and I think (not sure) this is changed with the S1, S2 programming.

Deen

From Mopar site, under S2 features:
"• Boost hold feature during WOT shifts. Keep the pedal to the metal, blip the clutch, and grab the next gear. Do it fast enough before the redline, and your reward will be a zero-lag, constant boost shift. "

I found this to be true with SI on my PT 5spd. After I installed my boost gauge I took it out and flogged it pretty good to see what boost #'s I was getting. When shifting normally I was getting 11 psi but when I speed shift boost holds 13 psi, cool! However it still starts to bleeds off around 5k rpm.

Has anyone set their traction control light on when slipping the clutch? I was cruising in 2nd gear at maybe 2k and did the ole'slipp and rev (it takes off like a rocket and seems to hold boost through all the gears, not good for the clutch though) and bam the traction control disengaged and the light stayed on, could not switch it on at the switch either. Cycled the key a few times and it reset?

Check your brake fluid level, mine did that too and it was low.

I thought you said your Brake light stayed on? My traction control light stayed on not the Brake light?
I am sure the only reason the traction control disengaged is the fact it could not contol it and the sensors could not make sense of what was going on and said forget this, disengage!
