Default Stage 1 ATX musings...

Maybe it's just me, but the S1 upgrade seemed more 'hot' before the ATX quick-learn. I wasn't able to do the quick-learn for a couple days after the install, but when I did it, I didn't hammer it to aggressively, just followed the instructions. It's been over a month now, and it's entirely possible that I've just gotten used to the power so it's not as impressive. Would anything change now if I did the quick-learn process again - perhaps a little more aggressively?
Also - with bov,AMX CAI,S1, and Magnaflow Exhaust, WOT/WFO sounds like a jet taking off - normal right?
One last stupid question - when the tires spin, the sound is more gravelly than I'm used to - is this due to the stock tire compound or am I shredding my tranny?
Inquiring minds want to know...

Jet taking off sound is normal as you have a turbine spooling.

Since you didn't do the "quick learn" at first, it may have been ineffective to do it a month later as your computer "learns" from the very beginging. YOu might want to ask 3BarBoost if this would effect the performance, I am sure he can tell you.

I didn't wait a month - only two days. I was afraid of blowing up the tranny from what I'd read.
I was just wondering if there would be any benifit to re-doing the quick learn at this point.
thanks

I waited about 10 minutes to do my quick learn and I wasn't terribly agressive either, just followed along with the instructions as I understood them. With the forced departure of 3bar maybe tthrift can shed some light on a "re-learn" procedure - but I don't think it would really help all that much. Unless I'm wrong (and I haven't been wrong for a good 5 minutes, so who knows!) the quick learn is an initial step to get the tranny aware of the extra HP and begin it's long term process. If you disconnect the battery for a few minutes then go through the quick learn again, I would be inclined to think that a couple of months down the road you may be feeling the same way; "am I just getting used to the power?"

Short answer; Power is addictive - the more you have the more you want.
