I agree with PlainT, it would be nice to have someone explain the decision making process at Chrysler.

Well folks, as you can see my the small numbers of my posts, I'm what's known in the military as a newbie to this forum. But here's my take. 3bar has done us all as well as his corporation a great favor by answering questions, explaining the often unknown (to us) effects of modifications (other than it'll smokem better) and why these modifications work. As Macster told me, there are a LOT of true gearheads on this forum who are constantly attempting to go faster, more safely (read without cooking stuff under the hood or car) and are willing to discuss these efforts with the rest of us. It's sorta like the commercial sport fisherman who won't let anyone know of his special spots; but you guys are willing to SHARE!! 3-bar's silencing is a shame and I know we'd all like to get a piece of the managerial nerd who clamped him. BUT, BUT, am I running to the nearest competitor? Not on your life! I LIKE this car and I intend to continue to pursue going 1320 feet as fast as I can with it. 3-bar will be back and we should all keep pushing the envelope and maybe, just maybe, if he reads something here that suggests someone's doing something stupid, or going down the wrong path, I'd look for him to appear here privately under another handle.

Thanks 3-bar....
Just received my new Florida vanity plate "Our Cruz"...YEAH!!!

First let me thank you for all the good info you have given us. I always found you a good spokemen for the company without being a company man! I also want to say you did a whole lot more good than bad for DC! I would think DC should actually assign an engineer type to these forums just to keep us loyalist informed and not doing stupid stuff to our cars. I would say that as a Corporation DC has done a very poor job of informing the loyal enthusiast about future plans and mods!! I do give you a tip of my Cruiseer cap and say you will always be welcome here!!

I second SteelBlue's sentiment, 3bar and uniquetwins contribution to this forum is outstanding, all of the information they have provided has helped me calculate my purchases concerning Mopar upgrades and which way best to modify my PT Cruiser. I think it is in DaimlerChryslers best interest to have great people advising loyal customers and perspective buyers the best way to upgrade, modify and purchase Mopar products. It would be a mistake if upper management is afraid to deal directly with their customer base on a technical level, in doing so they would be missing out on customer feedback as well as test models for next generation PT Cruisers. This forum and many like them provide a valubale resource for any future plans regarding anything PT and it is a shame that Corporate DC can't see that value. It is this short sightedness which holds back DC from making informed decisions on their marketing of the PT Cruiser. Not listening to their client base is the worst thing any corporation could do. That said I applaud anyone that works for DaimlerChrysler who has shared information with this forum. Every word you have shared with us is definitly a service and I will truely miss your advise. Hope you will be back, you are always welcome.

3bar,

Thanks for the time you spent on the forum helping us to get a better understanding of how things on the GT work. There has been an obvious lack of information from the mothership, and we all have had many misconceptions rectified by your input here.

That loud sucking sound we have been hearing is the vortex of DCX going down the tubes since the German takeover.

I sincerely hope that you can make arrangements to work for a better company before they go under, and that you aren't one of the last english-speaking emoployees to leave the mothership.

I, like many others here, will never have another Chrysler. I personally like many of the local and regional sales and service people that I have met since owning 2 new PT cruisers since late 2001. The employees are nice, the product is nice, the company suffers the proverbial terminal condition: "Massive Propensity for Insidious Morphelation" - (sucks!). I hope the suits there have permanent repercussions from not being able to extract their collective head from their collective anal re-breathing apparatus in time to get a breath of fresh air. They certainly have been going without oxygen to the brain for a long time, and critical mass is a short distance away.

Best wishes; in what ever you do.

Say it isn't so!! Not to surprising though as we've seen this kind of crap from DCX before. I can hear it now...

"You're doing what?? Talking to our customers via an Internet forum?! What are you thinking! We don't want people learning about how their vehicles really work. They might then think we're going to support them!"
Thanks for all your input 3bar. You'll be missed![8)]
