On reading this topic from beginning to end I am amazed. It started with the good news that the Stage II would be coming out and ended with the statement that in talking to MOPAR they learned that the project has been shelved. Who the hell are people talking to at MOPAR and why can't MOPAR get their sh*t together and come out with a coherent story?

It sure would be so easy just to tell us the truth!!

^ I think they did. Their story was that it WAS coming out, but then they shelved it. Keep in mind, this topic was started a long time ago. Probably about the time S2 was barely hitting streets for the SRT4

Hoopdie, you are probably right. I think it's time to get a Stage I and go from there.

I think that with the S1 and other turbo items (WGA, boost controller, and a method of tuning) you will be very pleased with the power that the Cruiser has. I see no reason why the Cruiser cant be a 13sec car (w/o nitrous). Of course with N20........(I swear by the stuff
)

The big benefit of SII would be the 3bar map and tip sensors and the programming to go with it. I wonder how the SI PCM would react to the SRT-4 SII Map and tip sensors?
The srt's are not made any stronger than the GT except, maybe the auto trans, and I am not so sure the auto trans would fail with SII as the numbers are not that much greater compared to stock, any more and then you are pushing it. If you beat on anything it is going to break! MoPar should develop some MP upgrades for the autotrans so it can handle the extra power. The SRT's are still going to smoke their clutch and axles just the same and their manual trans is not indestructable. I am still hoping for SII! Please MoPar, Please! |

Oh, sorry guys, my statement was in jest. Trying to relieve the anxiety about buying Stage 1. [:I]

D*mmit man, you caused me at least ten seconds of total pain. Seriously though, look at how twisted up this board has gotten over stage two. Maybe we all need to have a group electronic hug. I know I for one have gotten a little over charged about it. Hubert

I was under the impression that the autostick has slightly higher torque rating than the 5-spd. (300 v 280hp)?
Suppose if your popping the clutch all the time anf running WOT or high end of the torque band all the time that you'll wear out the tranny faster.

Here's one way to look at it:
PT = Cruiser[8] SRT4 = Sports/Compact[8)] PT Vendors = Chrome Ashtrays SRT4 Vendors = Go Fast Parts PT Owners = A Day at the Mall SRT4 Owners = Rice Killers PT Image = Fun, Cute, Toy SRT4 Image = "What was that?" PT Owners age = ___(fill it in) SRT4 Owners Age = ___(<PT) How DCX looks at it: The PT World only got the GT Turbo because it has a common platform with the SRT4/Neon. NO SRT4, no PT Turbo. DCX's developement costs could be spread out over 2 model lines. Us 'Cruiser owners will always just get leftovers at the table. To them, we are an evolutionary deadend without the potential of the SRT4. But we have a trump card that beats 'em all. We're lookin' good standing still or wide open. The whole world turns their head when we pass by. The little known secret of our speed and performance is great fun to show off. "PT Style" is not a economy car with bolt on mods look. 25 words or less: We ain't gittin' Stage 2. |
