All my hope is gone for a PT Stage 2 kit and CARB approval.[:0]
I fear you may be right. If so, Chrysler just lost on that one since I WILL NOT buy a non-CARB approved Stage kit, period!!

I know that some don't care, but staying EPA legal is a BIG deal to me. I am willing to take my chances with the warranty issues but not the "Not For Use on Emission Equipt Vehicles" issue.

Well... time will tell. I talked to my local guys here, and they recieved a memo from Mopar,so I was like sure you did... Prove it. So I saw the memo, was legit, and PT items are going to start being released 1st quarter 2005.(according to the memo, we'll see.)

I heard about the SEMA PT with 400+ HP, through with all Mopar bolt-ons. So Mopar needs to get there A$$ in gear.

Mopar's getting slaped around like a B*&%$, from all of us here.[8]

Okay, at the risk of causing this thread to double in size, I've got to ask the question that's been puzzling me after reading all the posts about stage 1 and 2. If the only difference is software (no new drivers or circuits) and the software in a stage 1 can be overwritten by reflashing back to stage 0, why can't you have the stock PCM reflashed to whatever stage you want? I realize Mopar doesn't want to take a stock road-legal vehicle and make it "off-road use only" at the dealer, but isn't that close enough to selling the new PCM that signing a disclaimer should cover them? This would avoid the parts inventory problem, and I doubt the customers that want the stage product wouldn't pay near the same price for a reflash, as opposed to getting a box with the program.

Are you saying to by all the other parts separately? S-2 is more than programming.

The S2 is more than just reprograming. there will be parts to add to it & swap out. not just injectors. I believe there will be water cooling for the turbo also... I can't remember everything... I'm getting old...[:0]

You're right; the srt-4 stage 2 kit (without power toy) is the new PCM, higher flowing injectors, and new map and tip sensors. As for water cooling of the turbo, our turbos are already water cooled and oil lubed.

Stage 1 for the 03's are injectors too, so it is not that different. And, have you seen where the TIP and MAP sensors are? It'll take all of 10-15 minutes to swap those out. This whole thing is stupid with Chrysler holding back. They have upset so many people and have either lost a sale of an 800 dollar part for a 300 dollar part or have lost a sale all together. I work in a dealership and I just put my orde in for a stage one. First of all, it took three weeks for the service manager to get it ok'ed because he was worried about a core charge (which there wasn't) and second I am the first person to buy a stage one from my dealership. I am pretty sure I am the first in the surrounding dealerships also. We are the biggest dealership as far as numbers go. I don't know. They got my 300 bucks. I am tired of waiting. Especially since my buddy bought an SRT-4. Spring will be coming sooner than I think and the track will be opening.
