I'm impatient, and didn't feel like waiting for S2, so I finally gave in and bought Stage 1. I'm very happy, to say the least! I installed it this afternoon, and had the chance to take the car to the track this evening. I though I would share my times. This is the first, and so far, only modification to the car.
I had a total of 4 runs. Here is one of my timeslips: ![]() I had three runs of 14.5 with the traction control on, and one 14.6 and 14.7 with the traction control off. All runs were performed using the 'Auto-Stick' feature, and everything else, besides S1 is stock. The air tempeture was just around 65F degrees. |

Way to go Blueberry. Good times! Now it would be interesting to see your times with an exhaust system and a K&N drop in filter. Is that in the near future? We would all be interested in the results.

Thanks!
![]() I ordered the K&N FIPK, which should hopefully be here Monday. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about an exhaust yet, I'd like something that's not too noisy, possibly the Mopar exhaust, or an electronic exhaust cut-out -- I'd also like to get some drag-radials and take this thing to a dyno. I had the chance to race two stock Srt-4's -- the first ran a 13.9 @ 101 , and the second a 16.4 @ 90 ([B)]), as well as a Nissan Skyline which ran a whopping 14.3 @ 93, and a modified GTI (shown on the timeslip below). ... The track is somewhat of a funny place I suppose...Most people just laugh at the car and walk off...There were quite a few people around the starting lines, commenting on the "slow 18 second PT Cruiser". Needless to say, after the first run, most of the people didn't know what to think....one of the reasons why the GT is awesome

Heck ya girl
Long time no post. Im getting impatient as well...you mustve gotten some hella huge tire spin...although the mph is a bit low . I ran a 94 mph with upping the boost and an intake. This engine must be restricted to hell. Im very curious to see how you do with the intake! Keep us updated! Cheers to 18 second cruisers that whoop up on mustangs ![]()

That's quite some impressive times with just a stage 1 mod. Let alone it's done with an auto stick. Perhaps the track was decent and you got the benefit of the weather. Or Mopar actually did do a good job only requiring a swap of the PCM to get those times. At the PT Block Party, I think some of the stage 1 autos hit the low 14's in hot weather, so I guess I shouldn't be soo pestimistic about the PT's potential
.In other words, that's some kick ass time you got there. |

I made a mistake on my last post, I meant HIGH 14's not LOW [:0]

Saki -- Always nice to see another girl tearin' up the track
And I agree with this engine being restricted... Just looking at the K&N and others' Dynos, 10 - 15 WHP is a significant gain from an air intake on a turbo car... The SRT guys aren't putting down that much of a gain (then again, their intake is already less restrictive to begin with...)PTGT -- I'm a little surprised myself... I've been waiting to recieve a boost gauge - I'm interested to see what kind of numbers the engine is peaking at... The traction control helped a bit, but I stil spun through all of first gear...The track I went to is usually somewhat well prepped, which always helps... I recieved my FIPK on this weekend, and installed it. What a difference! Outside of the louder intake, and the annoyance of the turbo flutter, I'm very happy with it. I would highly recommend this product to anyone -- very easy to install, and the quality is great. ![]() I ordered an exhaust, as well as a set of drag radials -- I hope to take the car to the track again this Friday to see what it can do...

I know I love my K&N Typhoon intake and with my cowl rubber back in the noise level is more than acceptable for me!! I do think I am making more HP maybe as much as 15 to 10 HP I dont know! I need to get my MOPAR BOV and 3" downtube and cat and Borla 2.5" catback system to be ready for stage 2 which will be the ultimate for me and my leased 03!

HELLO!!!!
MY PT GT RUN THE 1/4 MILES IN 15.32 SECONDS ONE TIME ONLY, THE ORIGINAL COMPUTER, K&N FILTER (LIKE ORIGINAL), THE EXHAUST SYSTEM ORIGINAL BUT I JUST REMOVE THE CTALITYC CONVERTER [:I] THE NEXT PART AFTER THE DOWN PIPE. THE NEXT RUNS ARE BETWEEN 15.53 TO 15.9. THIS TIME WAS IN GUADALAJARA, JALISCO. MEXICO. LEVEL SEA: 1565 MTS. TEMPERATURE: 27°C. AND I HAVE A CIRRUS ´02 WITH THE SAME MACHINE 2.4L. DOHC TURBO AND AUTOMATIC, BUT THIS CAR IS MOST POWERFULL THAN THE PT GT, WHY? MAY BE THE INTAKE SYSTEM IS LESS RESTRICTIVE.

Edgar, there might be a few tips on running a stage 1 PT atx a little better.
1. Let auto-stick shift for itself (it will automatically, shift around 6200 RPMS) 2. Better tires, set psi around 25 for the front tires. 3. Launching at 1900 - 2100 RPMS. I'm sure you probably may or may not know these, but I'm just tossing these points up just for simple reminders. Cirrus might be lighter than the PT, therefore they go faster .
