I went to the SEMA show this past Sunday at the LA Convention Center, and had a chance to chat with UniqueTwin for a bit about Stage 2(S2) for the PT.
I had dinner with Uniq last year while she was in town visiting her twin sister. I found her to be very focused, intelligent, fun, and
very, very H O T.[]
IMHO, she'd be a finalist for The Apprentice.
I have to agree on the hotpart...say a pic of her over at the SRT forum...very attractive woman
I met her at NOPI last year and yes.........she is a hottie....the fact that she was very intelligent and knew her stuff was a big turn-on too........

This is a post I found on PT Forums from a gentleman named low03gt.

"Hello all turbo owners I work for a chrysler dealer and got my parts guys to call mopar performance directly and find out about Stage 2 for the PT, I was originally told it was going to be out in june, but it has been postponed for 3 months.............ugh"

Looks legit and getting the carb certification makes it sound realistic. Unlike the srt4 people I know there are a lot of people here who are afraid to buy either stage 1 or stage 2 without carb certification so it looks like Mopar is making sure they'll sell a bunch of stage 2's to the GT and turbo lite crowd. Oh well, I've got other mods I can do before stage 2 comes out.

You can bet if it is carb certified it will be $$$$$$$$$$$$$. No thanks they (DCX) took too long, aftermarket has figured out how to piggyback fuel management. So I got S1.

Thanks DCX, but no $$$$$ from me

I will patiently await Stage 2 WITH CARB certification. If it costs more, so be it. I would prefer to remain legal when it comes to pollution control laws and a sticker on the PCM that says "Not for Use on Vehicles Equipped with Pollution Control Devices" doesn't make me feel too good. But to each his own.

I applaud DCX for listening to the voices of many PT owners who had a major heartburn that the Stage kits were not certified for pollution control vehicles. I am certain that it is costing them some $'s and I am willing to pay more for it.

For the umpteenth time CARB Certification does not cost that much! The product engineering could cost more to make it CARB certified. If Chrysler had originally engineered SI for Carb certification then they would not have to go back to the drawing board and we would not even know of any cost differences, but they had to rush it to market. I do know they have done a disservice to the SRT-4 crowd if they do produce the PT GT SII as CARB certified!
I also do not care if it costs more and I sure hope it does come out. I think it will be a very solid foundation to build even more power from. 3bar sensors and programming to go with it![?] Piggy back is just bandaid crap, IMO!

How much does the horn cost that hey left off, or the sway bar? It may not cost much, but the sticker "says" they can charge more. If what you are saying is true, it will cost the same as the SRT. We will see. But from what I have seen from this company, I would bet they will charge 10% or more than the SRT kitcosts. Kind of like Evian water, or Escalde, or anyother reason companies charge more or offer less. Fuel management isn't a Band aid, Because DCX wants to be the exclusive performance parts supplier, it is a work around. The systems are getting very advanced, this is the option I have been looking into since they pulled the S2 off the web sight.
If I am wrong, then I will say I'm sorry, and as far as the purchase, it will have to be a great deal, and have excellent performance.

MD,
Which would you rather have on the streets, A clean burning S1, S2, or S3 car, or they driver who fails, show reciepts(sp) and still has a dirty car but they waive them. Pollution controll means correct burning of fuels, and reducing the amount of "clean" emmissions. And as of now our cars are running very rich, and hoping the rest of the emmission controls clean it up. If the real reason for pollution controll was to clean the air, ALL vehicles would have to pass a tail pipe test. Yes it is making a difference, but the amount of dirty cars running around is pretty bad. You are in my area, I'm sure you have seen cars belching both anburned gas, black smoke, and burning oil, blue smoke. Those cars should be ticketed and tested, and repaired.

Tom,

You finally did it. You got the S-2 issue in mainstream again[8D]

My two cents is that most likely, we will produce less HP than the SRT but they will charge us more, like they did with S-1. DC will say: " It produces Less HP, but it is 50 state legal".

Like Tom said, I hope I am wrong. All we can do is wait and see[:I]

Ian

Tom, I am as more sensitive to thick air than most (I spent some of my high school years in Los Angeles) and Dallas now has the same yellow haze. No question that the newer cars pollute less than the older cars. I love the classics. If someone wants to maintain and drive an older car, more power to them. I would just like to be sure that my car will pass the sniffer test or the plug-in OBD test (yes, even in some counties of Texas) and will be legal if I move to a state that is even more restrictive.

I hate to think that I would be forced to change out the injectors and PCM once a year to pass a plug-in emission test. I am a hassle free kind of guy. As long as other stay of my way, I will try my best to stay out of their way. I just don't like to advertise that I am not legal.

However, you can never have enough HP so I am awaiting a certified Stage 2.

The PT ain't my previous '63 XKE convertible but it's a fun ride for the 21st century.

Let's cruise!! (and be careful out there.)
