Old news fellows[V]

This has been discussed a number of times before over the past year and is NOW one of the main reasons we (PT Cruisers)won't be getting S2 for awhile since DCX intends to get our S2 CARB certified. Of course S2 for the SRT4 crowd is still "for off-road and racing use only" and they will be selling 100's and 100's of kits which WILL be used on the street.

Wish that worked here. The inspection stations have too much at stake to do that any more. Huge fines and loss of license. Not sure if the computer has to interface with the PCM these days making it almost impossible to fake. The only thing that I have ever been able to do is get them to overlook the visual inspection a little to allow the modified air intakes that weren't CARB approved.

Illegal? Can you openly market a illegal product?
Esp a company like DC?
You think the government would catch wind of such blatant infringements.
Their whole warranty is a nice write-off responsibility for your car if you screw it up policy. Keeps peeps from claiming thrown rods and stuff when they abuse their car with these kits (assuming abuse of the kits by owners).

Has anyone noticed that on the Mopar performance catalog it lists the HP gain from the Stage 1 turbo kit as 15 hp and on the ads on this forum it boasts 60 HP? Which is right, how can there be such a disparity?

Because if you have a 180hp turbo lite it will add 55 to 60hp to make 235 hp,260ft-lbs at the crank, if you already have a 215 to 220hp engine it will add 15 to 20 to give you 235hp, 260ft-lbs, at the crank, if you have a late '05 or '06 with 230hp HO it will add approx 40hp and give you 235 hp, 275ft-lbs torque at the wheels.

I believe '07 is the same as the late '05 & '06 but, I have not seen the spec sheet for a '07 yet.

The Mopar Catalogs have always been wrong, when it comes to the 180hp turbo engine. and they did not upgrade the changes for the '05 & newer models either, and I have the newest 2007 Mopar Performance catalog, and it does not match the Stage 1 spec/dyno sheet that comes with the newer Stage 1 kits.
