Default STAGE 1 KITS
In the first three months of availability, we’ve sold the kit (stage 1) to more than 18 percent of 2003 SRT-4 owners. Is this possible?? How many kits have they sold?? Do they know this is not legal for pollution controlled vehicles??

I wonder what why it's not legal or is it just not certified?

I can't figure it out, it's just higher ratio injectors and more programing.

I bet if I did the stage 1 and went for Ontario's emission test it would pass, I mean the car is only 1 year old!

My understanding is that a pollution controled vehicle is any vehicle sold in the US for street driving since about 1971!

If this is true then all Stage 1 Kits for the PT Cruiser are NOT LEGAL for "street use" and would not pass a "smog test" and you could be cited/fined for having one on your vehicle. IS THIS CORRECT or NOT??? [:I]

While they might pass a sniffer test, that does not mean that they are legal. If the mods do not have EO number (Executive Order) they are not legal.

Seems like if the kit(s) are not legal, DCX would note that they are for off-road or racing only so. I THINK their only caution relates to warranty....

They do say "Not legal for sale or use on pollution controlled motor vehicles." Can't get much plainer.

There are a few CA guys on other threads who indicate they have passed the CA smog test with Stage 1 installed. I did that minor due diligence before I ordered mine since I am in CA.
