I have stage 1 in NY . Installed by dealer, although not dealer I bought GT from . I don't know how it'll fare with new testing but I have stock pcm and it's a 5 minute swap. If it passed California sniffers it should pass ours.

The biggest problem will be the obd II system readiness test that some states use during or for their smog test. I believe it is Utah that only runs a system readiness test and if it passes that then the car passes, with no actual tail pipe sampling. You would not believe the steps you have to take to complete a system readiness test! Similar to the FTP. I believe stage I has some of the monitors turned off so it will not pass a system readiness test. Had Chrysler engineered it correctly then this would not be a problem, but they took the short cut route! This is probably why SII is delayed.

Once again, DC/Mopar's position is clear

Come on cal, enough with the doom and gloom!

However, it may be undetectable! In CA. all obd II cars have their system readness checked during a emissions test at least in the enhanced areas. Of all the monitors that the systems uses 2 can be "not ready". I would not say off or failed, so it may be possible to pass the system readiness test with no more than 2 off or disabled? Has anyone actually had a CA. emissions inspection in an enhanced area, not just a tailpipe sampling, on a PT GT w/sII? I doubt it since we do not have to have an inspection for the first 4 or 5 years, but maybe someone went ahead and actually had a complete test performed? Please post.
