Leaning towards not getting Stage 2 if/when it comes out. I don't see the better performance being added according to the SRT 4 folks. Got some saying they got better track times running Stage 1 and mbc. Not sure if some aren't publicly unhappy about it because of the money they've spent. I know some have canceled their orders. I expected a lot of people to say "WOW" and that's not happening. If we ever get it I'll see what the first ones that install it here say about it. Maybe it's not being released to the GT folk because it isn't all that and we are seeing disappointed SRT folk.

Where are you getting your information? If you go to the polls on Stage 2 there are only 3 percent of those that are unhappy with their purchase.
Also, roughly 69 people have purchased S2 to date and another 150+ said they would purchase because of the favorable comments so far. Deen

From what I've read over there, the "Happiness" factor seems to depend on what the expectations of Stage 2 were. It appears that most of the benefits of Stage 2 comes from part throttle/low rpm performance. Most of the dyno charts have shown nice torque gains under the curve but minimal peak gains thus making it a much more fun car on the street but not neccessarily a WOT/Top End 1/4 mile burner. I must admit that the lower trap speeds that many have reported is somewhat disturbing.
I still think Stage 2 will be a good platform to build on, especially with the larger injectors and 3 bar MAP. It just might take some time to figure out all the little quirks about the new PCM. Thus it may be a blessing that our S2 release has been delayed so we can let the SRT4 folk be the "Guinea Pigs" and be able to make more informed purchasing decisions later on. Aloha, Mark |

The problem could be that many owners of the old S1 have reworked other parameters to get the extra performance. Switching to a strait S2 may not add to that picture.
One builder(SRT-4)used the S1 as a basis to achieve 500 WHP.[8)] |

I agree! I believe the SII will work fantastic with a mbc or ebc setup for increased top end performance. May not have to run the dsabc type set up since we would have the 3bar sensors and a better wga. The 3bar sensors with the reprogramming tells me there is room for tweaking! I sure hope they come out with SII for the GT/turbos! Pleeease DCX, Pleeeease! |

If DC can get CARB certified, I will be on Stage II like stink on you know what.

I'm hoping I hear good things about Stage 2 for our turbos. It would be great if DCX would come out and tell us when.[:I]

I do have to agree there have been some problems and PVO has said that S2 owners would not see dyno numbers to back up the improvements but they would see quarter-mile ET's drop.
I've read comments where S2 owners think it's great but have also read some comments where the upgrade is running pig-rich and the WG has to be set "just-right" or they do not see an increase in HP. So it appears at this point S2 may not be as out-of-the-box user friendly as S1 was, but it's still early yet to come to a firm conclusion with only around 70 kits released so far. As time moves along I'm beginning to re-think S2 and just might try being a guinea pig for a EBC, tthrift's billet WG, and a MAP clamp. I go on vacation in June and will wait until I get back to see if Mopar has it's act together for us...if not then it's time to consider experimenting. From my understanding just running the MAP clamp (under $100) will net us 15-20 WHP. For more info on a MAP Clamp go to the SRT4 forum and do a search. I mentioned in a previous post that we could get close to S2 HP for about $700...we just need to learn to "tune" like the SRT4 folks are learning. Deen

My boyfriend just installed S2 on his SRT-4. He didn't have any problems with the install -- everything fit and worked perfectly. One of the advantages of buying S2 is that you get a part that is perfectly tuned and made specifically for your vehicle.
The first time he took me for a drive in the car, you could instantly feel a huge gain in power and torque. More power also means bigger traction issues. The first time he took it to the track he ran a 13.9 but trapped at 107 MPH! Mind you, the modified LS1 next to him trapped at 108MPH and ran a 12.7. The temperature outside was a blistering 91 degrees, at 400FT above sea level. He has no other modifications done to his car other than S2. Maybe people are having problems because they are using other manufacturers parts and expecting everything to work correctly. Or perhaps they just don't know what they are doing. I'm not making any assumptions, but I don't know why they aren't happy with S2. From my own experience I would highly recommend S2 to anyone. S2 hasn't even come out for the GT yet, so I wouldn't make a decision until you see what it can do for our cars. It's all about perspective.
