Default help

Just installed stage 1 on a 03 gt with 5 speed. It seems to run fine but the speedo is not working. Also I have a check engine light and can not remember how to check the codes. I have done a search but can not find it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I know there is a problem if the dealer flashes a pcm, they can forget to do something that leaves the speedo inop. I guess there could be an issue where the s1 pcm my not have been programmed right. Did you send in the odometer statement, or did you pick this up used? When they replaced my high rpm miss pcm (TSB) the first thng I checked was speedo operation.

Now that you mention it Thier, I recall others with this same problem. Hopefully the
ones that had this problem will be answering soon!

Thanks for the response Thier. I bought the stage 1 new from the dealer, but I noticed one of the vin digits on the PCM was incorrect. Maybe that is the problem.

I'll be willing to bet the farm on the one wrong digit. But then again I don't live on a farm, anyone got one I can borrow.
Becarefull about trying to have the dealer flash it, you might end up with a stage 0 if not done right. There are posts on the SRT site about reflashing stage pcm, go there and look around in the performance upgrade section, there was a post within the past couple of days on flashing stage one pcms.

They should be able to correct the Vin, BUT, they had better not reflash any program or you will have a new stock PCM.

sounds like they didn't flash the pinion gear ratio. This is being overlooked a lot. Speedo won't work and you won't get full power.

Just an update on my situation: took mine in to the dealer (stealer?). Showed him the difference in vin between the box and the PCM. He called DC since he had never seen a stage 1 kit. After talking to them he said he needed to reprogram the vin and the "skim". He said all stage 1 kits had to be done whether the vin was correct or not. Charged me $70.00. Seems like other people have been able to install theirs without dealer "help". Any thoughts?

rebel,

You were sent an improperly functioning Stage 1 PCM. You need to call Mopar and get your money back from your dealer! It is Mopar's fault for sending you a faulty unit.

I truly hope they didn't reprogram the whole PCM, otherwise, you have a normal turbo PCM. You need to have Mopar tell you somehow that it wasn't fully reprogrammed to 'normal" turbo specs.
