I just recieved my screaming demon coil and the instructions say to open the plug gap to 0.65! Is this neccessary or can I leave the gap at 0.50? Also recieved my kv8.5 wires.

On a blown application I would not open the gap up right at first. You can experiment with it a little at a time, the theory being a bigger spark = better burn. However, with a turbo you can extingush the spark under high boost. You should keep an eye on the plugs as they could need regapping sooner.
