Can someone enlighten me?..... yeah I know, should not be to hard

Anyways, reading alot about S1 and am very interested in adding it to my Turbo Lite Auto. couple of questions,

I see that some posts mention it is VIN specific, if so does it need to be programed prior to purchase?

It sounds like it is PCM and injectors, is that really all?

Is there ANY reason to have the dealer install it? warranty?

Aside from a Brand X pipe and drop in K&N do I really need anything else?

I was thinking of a muffler replacement, is that the next step? which one is not real loud?

Thanks for raising my awareness,

Mike

You can install the stage 1 yourself. Just a matter of switching out your pcm. You already have the larger injectors. Instructions for pcm switch are very straight forward.....You need to give your VIN to have it programed before you receive it.....My dealer said my warranty was not voided but anything that went wrong that was caused by stage 1 would not be covered. I've had stage 1 for over 17,000 miles and no problems. I've had warranty work done and no problem, but I have a very good dealer. Some dealers will look for excuses. Make sure you have a good dealer even if you have to drive a bit further to do so. My dealer is 45 minutes away. I bought my '03 GT from them. Another dealer (20 minutes away) where I bought my '01 PT gave me crap about adding mods to my '01 so I don't go to them.....I went to a 2 1/2" catback exhaust in preparation of when/if stage 2 comes out. It is a Heartthrob single exhaust system which is not loud, maybe a couple of steps louder than the stock system. My wife likes it and that is saying a lot. Here shortly I will be getting Maxx Fab's 3" down pipe and high flow cat to hook up to my Heartthrob exhaust. Others have purchased the Borla 2 1/2" exhaust system, both single and duals, and like it.

Hey Mike, send me a private email and we can talk about these Turbo Lite cars if you'd like. I installed Stage 1 myself and I don't consider myself to be much of a wrench.....couldn't be any easier! I got my S1 from tthrift for a great price and very quickly. My Turbo Lite is now keeping up with S1 GTs at the track, and dusting all sorts of other cars. Very cool.

the reason he thinks there is a core charge is because it is a function 11 part which means there is a core, but not in this case.
Any half witted Chrysler parts person would know the difference between factory and MP parts! The front counter especially! Have the dealerships given up on any sort of training?

Criminals...and idiots.
You keep your parts.
Order them from Tommy and certainly don't get it installed at that dealer.
Friggin Criminals...that oughta be reportable to DC.
