Default Stage 2 Perspectives

It does seem absurd to be so punative on the California drivers over smog control and performance. Here are a couple of fun facts:

* An average 18 wheeler can polute to the equivalent of 100+ automobiles (Passing the minimal DEQ now existing). Worst of all: diesel containes some Cyclic Petrolium Products - Benzine derivatives - that are extremely powerful carcinogens.

* New NAFTA rules will allow Mexican truckers to operate anywhere in the U.S. without any smog or safety inspection. Everyone knows how strict the Mexican government is about polution control - right?

Question: Why do we continually shoot ourselves in the foot; Mexican Nationals now can get in state tuition at our Universities when American Citizens (out of State)cannot, Mexican Nationals regularly vote in our election process, they own our land, use our health services, partake of free education, and now they have the right to crap in our air, while we are fined heavily for the most minor of infractions.

I am sure that MANY Multinatoinal Corporations (read that - non tax paying/pseudo American companies) will be grateful for the opportunity to pay a Mexican trucking company 1/10th the wages for filthy trucks that crap in our air and endanger other drivers. Hey, Kirby, it's not only in California, it's right up the middle of Texas on I-35. More damn Mexican 18 wheelers than cars, most of which are wrecks.

What the heck ever, guys. No restrictions = low costs = cheap products. May I remind you where the car we are so in love with is MADE??? [:I] Im sure our PTs wouldve been more expensive without cost lowering standards like these...

Saki, Girl, the automobile is not the issue here. It's all that other crap they push up and down the highways. Besides, our beloved cars come to the main rail head in Laredo, Texas on trains, then they are switched more trains that take them to several other rail points all over the nation before they are trucked to our friendly dealers. I went thru this when they lost our cruiser.

When we are all making 6 bucks an hour then it won't matter how cheap the crap they import in, because we won't be able to afford it!

ptgtcb, I actually agree with you on most of this, but the problem with your comment is that it's just words. Your PT was made in Mexico just like the rest of ours, so if you really felt that strongly perhaps you (and many of us - maybe even me) should have stuck with a truly US built car, from a US owned car company. I have neighbors down the street, northern European lineage I would guess, who have several American flags flying all the time (30' flagpole, in the house windows, on the garage door, even the street number painted on the curb) but all 5 of their cars are either Hondas or Toyotas. Sort of makes me wonder every evening when I walk by with the dog.

This post sucks! Think about it. There are lots of folks here who are of different ethnic (whateva) groups. We have received a lot of good "free" information from everyone which has saved us a lot of money. E.g RK, Ian, up-pipe Adam and Mexican PT and Lord forgive if I've forgotten anyone else. Right now we are trying to get a subsitute package for S2 (thanks KSquared11) and a Turbo replacement package (Thanks RK) for our cars. We have folks who are spending their own time and money to do things and who are providing us the results for "free." Now you post some "@#$%^&" like this. In case you have forgotten, no one ever told us how they made their cars run in the 13"s, all that they gave us was some mumbo jumbo ^&*%^&* about it costing a lot of money and some secert a%^& airbox mod bullcrap. We also have people who posted their Dyno results before and after S1 (Thanks RK and others). So WTF is my point, it is this, without the input and goodwill of a lot of the people who post on this board, we have to do some very $$$ research to find out what works and what doesn't. So before you post crap like this, fix it in such a way that it won't offend anyone. FYI, the people who should take the F%^&king hit for NAFTA are in DC.
