I will first appologize if this has already been asked but will stage 1 eliminate the Speed Limited on my Turbo Lite. Also I have heard rumors of people getting better mpg with Stage 1 is this true. Thank you in advance for your help.

Mike-In-Orange is a better person to answer your question since he has a Turbo-lite with Stage 1. However, Stage 1 does not "eliminate" the limiter. If the lite has the same limiter as the non-turbo, then Stage 1 might raise the limiter to the Turbo's 128 mph.
According to 3BarBoost, the PT gets very squirrelly above 130 due to rear end lift that brings on bad overstear. Don't every expect Chrysler to let the PT get into that speed range with their blessing. As to mileage, I have heard both increases and decreases. If you want Stage 1 for performance you will use it. That would probably offset any increase that you might otherwise experience. Add the extra cost for Preminum and it isn't going to be a money saver. Sorry.

I guess that's my cue!
Hmmm, not sure about the limiter, but if it's tied to the PCM then I would assume yes. As MichaelDay pointed out, the aerodynamics of the PT are such that I don't really want to try it out at its limits. I can tell you that with Stage 1 the Turbo Lite pulls very strongly even through 95mph. As for gas mileage, if you're talking cruise control maintained highway mileage, I think it does help a bit. I've gotten 25mpg or so that way. Around town, forget it! Jump on the go pedal and it's like a damn breaking - all the water in the reservoir (or in this case, gas in the tank) is just gone. I've seen 16mpg that way. But hey, gas prices are coming down, so there's that! |

Gentlemen,
Thank you for your replys. I really dont expect any improvement in mileage and I could really care less but I thought it would be a nice bonus. Great forums! Greg
