Default Stage 1 installed, now a question.

I finally got my S1 and installed it last night. I have the Mopar BOV and when I was doing the quick learn when I hit the gas hard on the 40 Mph thing I could hear a high pitched whistle like sound. I think it may be a boost leak from my BOV. I didnt use any RTV when I installed it. Anybody have any other ideas of what it might be before I pull it out and seal it up?

you sure you're just not hearing the turbo spinning?

I think this is most likely the normal sound of the turbo at WOT--sort of like a jet plane on take-off! [8)] My car has the same kind of sound and my Mopar BOV was installed using High Temp RTV sealant on both sides of the gasket. If you were to install a Brand X/or other turbo-up pipe the sound may increase some as there will no longer be a silencer in the pipe.

I dont think its the turbo. To me it sounds like air being forced out. I better try it some more to get a better idea of what is going on.

SDTurbo-

You might check the tightness of the hose clamps on the high pressure connection points at output of turbo, in and out of intercooler, and inlet to throttle body. SRT4 people with S2 found that they were leaking boost at some of those points. Mine actually popped off at the throttle body one time, and I found that the others weren't very tight. You may be leaking boost there now that the pressure is higher with Stage 1.

I'll check that also. Last night I decided to just seal the BOV with the RTV just for my own peace of mind. That way I'll know for sure that thats not a problem. On a side note, man that extra power is awesome![8)]
