Default Stage 0 vs Stage 1 mpg

Okay, I finally went through 22 fill-ups (11 w/stage 0, 11 w/stage 1) so I can compare gas mileage. Unfortunately, an equal comparison is impossible since Stage 1 was also accompanied by a change to Mobil 1 synthetic oil and an AMX1397 Brand X turbo-to-airbox pipe. I installed a K&N drop-in and did the snorkelectomy from day 1 so that doesn't change anything. Here are the results for a 50-50 mix of highway (70+ mph) and city (stop & go, <50 mph) driving:

Stage 0
Low - 20 mpg
High - 25 mpg
Average - 23 mpg

Stage 1
Low - 19 mpg
High - 25 mpg
Average - 23 mpg

There ya have it.

GG

Hard to keep off of the throttle with stage 1. Mine increased by 2 mpg but ONLY if I don't get totally on it all of the time.

Ditto that Tom. My first 15 tanks average 16.4 with a best of 17.5. I did the mods before the first tank but I don't think it would change anything. It's the right foot that's the problem![8)]

RIGHT ON! One should not get STAGE 1 for improved fuel ecomony. However, should you get a little better gas mileage with S1 installed, consider yourself lucky.
