i think if you disconnect the battery, you can do

as you like.

1) Disconnecting the battery should not require a transmission relearn.

2) According to Ian-PT-GT, your 1/4 mile times will drop with the autostick by leaving it in autostick mode. Keep your foot on the floor, the transmission will wait longer to shift than if you leave it in "D". This does not apply to the Turbo-lite with the "regular" automatic transmission however.

so how and when do you do a trans quick learn?
The tranny quick learn is a specific series of part throttle acceleration runs. It needs to be done prior to any hard driving of the car after installing the Stage 1 PCM. It is safe to drive casually to an appropriate area to perform the quick learn, just do not do any hard runs prior to the procedure.

I am ready to tip toe out to the bulivard toarrow at 7 am (ON A FRIGING SUNDAY)to teach my transmission how to shift when it's going down the 4 or 5 freeway at 4 or 5 MPH. I can only hope that the TX knows when I should shif because I will be knaping!!![?][8][^]
