Default I Just ordered Stage 1(newbie w/question?)

Hi Guys and Gals,

I'm a newbie to this forum. I just registered today. I've just bought a 2004 GT Cruiser with autostick and have been reseaching turbo stage upgrades. This forum really helped me out. This morning I ordered S1 from Tommy Thrift(great prices). He's a great guy! He offered to help in any way he could if I ever had any questions about my GT Cruiser. I got the S1 with Mopar blow off conversion kit. Can anyone tell me about the sound qualities of this blow off valve and how it works with an automatic trans. As the trans shifts, is there alot of blow off that is audible? I'm really excited about hearing lots of (PShhhhhh!!!) in between gears. Thanks Guys! I'm getting anxious about adding MOPAR(mo power)[8)] to my GT Turbo!

Thanks! Rock on Cruisers [?]

you won't hear too much noise between shifts b/c ofthe auto you don't let off the pedal. so there isn't much back pressue until you let off the throttle , thats when you will hear the pshhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! sound. as you drive the car you will find ways to make the sound when you want to make just for fun.

have fun
thanks tommy

Welcome, John. I did prety much as you did, W/O the BOV. Mine seemed to get quieter with the Stage I. [8)]

Welcome, retroman715. I'm sure you'll enjoy "S1" and find it improves the overall performance of your Cruiser. [8D]

Thanks Guys for making me feel welcome,

I'm looking forward to the stage 1 install and the cool sounding blow-off valve (PHHHH!!). Maybe I'll dust a few unsuspecting boy racers in the process. Can't Wait! [8)]

I'll keep you updated as to the install.

Keep on KREWZIN'

John

I take it you will be doing the install on both. My understanding is that the BOV install is more time consuming than the stage 1 for the 04 cars!!

If you want to hear the turbo whine under WOT (sounds like a jet engine taking off), you will have to get rid or the silencers in the intake system. Not sure which products I can mention on this board without getting banned but search around. You will want to replace the pipe that runs from the turbo up to the air intake. I replaced the air box with an aftermarket unit. If you want more info email me and I will send you the stuff that I did. I actually made my own turbo to intake pipe but there are several good ones that you can buy very reasonably too. This mod really made the car respond a lot faster. The more air you can get to your turbo the faster it will spool.

Not hearing the BOV b/t shifts is great! That means we aren't loosing boost
