For the time being the smog issue is not bothering me in Virginia. However, there are rumors that the State is going to go with readouts of the OBD system in the future and then it may pose a problem. The thing holding me up right now is the fact that my dealer hasn't a clue about Mopar aftermarket parts. I'm afraid of what might might happen if something went wrong and I had to take it in for warranty work. So I guess I'd vote for the warranty first although being emmissions certified would also be nice. By the way, does anyone know of a Chrysler dealer in No. Virginia who isn't a pain to deal with if you have aftermarket parts (MOPAR) on the car? CJJ

CARB Approval is a secondary concern for me, but Warranty and Dealer upgrades are a primary concern.

the way I look at it, even the retail price of S1 is a super bargain, so if it dies I would buy it again, but it would be nice to know that a dealer could provide flash updates or some level of warranty/support, or at least not 'void the entire warranty' once you install it.

Thanks for my S1 Tommy. Doubt I will go S2 unless there are even better mappings. S1 makes it a challenge to keep the tires hooked up at low speeds. I hear HyperTech is looking at a programable interface for the stock PCM and they sell in the $1,000 range. THAT would interest me, the ability to run it as S0, or S1, and have control over many of the variables, (Boost, AF, Trans, even cooling fan cycles) and then flash it back to stock when needed sounds like the ulitimate for me. I like the idea of running regular gas, then flashing the PCM, adding premium or octane boost and running it as S1 or beyond that sounds cool.

Mike

CARB 50 State legality and a price arouind $1,000 with no toys and I buy like today!! As I said before CARB cert will mean, IMHO, warranty and dealer repairs. I think this is what we deserve from a DC engineered part! No more no less!![8]

tthrift,

If S1 was CARB certified I'd buy it. Only reason I haven't already is NY's intention to test emissions starting immediately.

Tommy,

Makes no differance to me although I am willing to pay the extra price for a CARB certified Stage 2 so that ALL our PT brothers/sisters can run the mod if they choose too.

I just wish they would quit beating around the bush, this Stage 2 talk has been going on for over more than a year now. Mopar should gives us a statement one way or the other so we can choose to spend our money with vendors that are more supportive. We are trying to be loyal to Mopar...it just appears they really don't care...unless you own an SRT4[xx(]

Deen
P.S. CARB certify Stage 1...No, that would just delay even longer our release of Stage 2
