The only weight reduction I want to do at this point is remove some excess paper from my wallet...say the amount of cash necessary to purchase stage two!
Seriously though, you would think that with such a ravenous group as this mopar would "get the point" and finish the darn project. Just to relieve some personal angst I am going to the mopar site today and ask about stage two again!

I talked to Gina, the lady in charge of the whole deal at Mopar, at the NOPI nats this past weekend. She said she would be at the Block Party in IL this coming weekend, and that if anyone wants to buy Stage 1 that day, they will be flashing them on-site.If you want one, you should bring your VIN # and your most recent mileage.

My personal opinion on Stage 2: It's more of an 'IF' now then a 'WHEN'. Stage 1 sales for the PT have been so low, that it's hard to justify the development and manufacturing cost associated with Stage 2. It's the whole target market thing. The type of person that typically buys a PT, even a Turbo, is much older than the type of person that buys an SRT-4.

TripleJack, I think you have hit on the answer. Who owns the SRT-4? Older folks like us or kids? Who spends more time and money at the track? The kids with the SRT-4, or the PT GT bunch? As in any business you develope and sell for the biggest market. And what might that be? The PT GT? Don't think so, also, let's bring this to light. The SRT-4 comes ONLY with a 5 speed... The VAST MAJORITY of PT GTs are sold with automatics, believe it or not, the 5 speed is still considered the racers favorite. Sorry auto-stick guys/gals. The old grey haird grandpa/granny is not gonna spend money on his/her PT GT just to get to see the grand kids quicker. It's a target market thing, and sad to say, we ain't it!

It seems to be the generall concensus that most of us are just waiting for S-2. I don't want to buy the cow twice.

I do not buy into the "no one is buying stage one so screw stage two" logic. It was offerd in the catalog and the SRT-4 boys have had it for 8 months now. Both items point towards a lot of momentum built towards the release. Whatever the hold up is Mopar needs to "fish or cut bait". Either press forward on the darn thing and finish the task or shelve it and issue a release stating "sorry boys, no stage two for you". What kind of a business plan is "maybe"???

I'm waiting for Stage 2 (CARB Approved, Stage 1 isn't). There is another reason why Stage 1 is slow on PT's, its the warranty issue. Kids don't give a $^%$ if its not under warranty, but the older crowd has more concerns, because the f%^%^ dealer goes around voiding warranties.

Btw, on September 25th, please bombard the engineers when we can expecy Stage 2 []. Also, please post on the 25th the answer!
