The engineering table was not really what I thought it would be. I thought it would be a session of PT owners asking questions about their PTs. In actuality, it was a marketing session. Engineers asked what we liked, didn't like, ways to improve, etc.

Before the session was ending, I mentioned about S1. Unfortunately, their meaning of S1 is a product code for a future product and not as Stage 1 as we know of it, therefore, they kept silent. It was not only after the session is when I brought up the question again to a different engineer. This person was in charge of the powertrain division and didn't know too much about S1, as she said. But I did explain that we would like to have better information as a release date, becuase the only information there is of now is just "TBA". She mentioned, as an example, of displaying a release date of "Fourth quarter 2004", etc. She seemed to listen to me and was taking notes. Another person who sat next to me gave spoke to a few other engineers and gave his ideas about S2, such as maybe allowing a cheaper upgrade for those who have S1, etc.

Unfortunately, my post does not answer anyone's dying question of S2. We can just hope and pray (or wish for those atheists) that we have S2 coming soon.

I can't believe that S-2 was not a hot topic for more people that went to the BP. Did DC just do a good job of ducking everyone?

Did you honestly expect DC to answer the question? You should have expected the ole marketing tap dance..

Wow, what a rough crowd![:0] Sorry about the long wait! I'll give a more detailed rundown tomorrow as I don't have much time, but as of now there is NO release date for Stage II. I was told by the one of the DC people at the Mopar Speed Shop tent that she was going to push to get Stage II released. I told her there are alot of us that are very interested in the Stage II. She told me that is exactly what she wanted to hear. She was hoping someone would approach them at the Block Party and let them know what the feeling about II was. Like I said I'll try to get a bit more detailed tomorrow. Had a blast, concert was great and the fireworks was the best I have ever seen.

MEDIC!!!

I'll take my chances with Stage 1 for now. I'll still get Stage 2, but in honesty I wonder if my car will last long enough to see the day Stage 2 comes out.

P.S. Yes, We're a tough crowd, but someone tell DCX to read the forums (it's free opinions and statistics too!).

It totally amazes me[V]. We have a number of PT websites that Mopar/DCX can read, we try and send them e-mail via the Chrysler website (that doesn't work by the way) or at least they don't answer, they had an engineer (3BarBoost)that actually talked to us, understood us, and knew our interests...and then they gagged him and threatened him with job loss if he continued communicating with us...

And now they say they STILL didn't realize we want Stage 2???[xx(]
We might as well hang it up boys/gals, if they haven't heard us by now THEY NEVER WILL.

Any bets out there that the PT Stage 2 will even be listed in the 2005 Mopar catalog?

For all of the frustration about stage two it still does not outweigh the total amount of fun this car is. Other than some low level engine mods I have left the car stock in anticipation of stage two. Even still it scoots along through traffic and just brings smiles to my face every time I get in. Heck, my wife "steals" it from time to time because "it gets into the flow of traffic so well" which is her way of saying "I like to stand on it".
I guess the only thing I want from Mopar is a yes or no on whether stage two will be released so that I can budget my Christmas present to me!

You are right about the fun factor. This is also probably one of the most recognizable cars on the road. IMHO most small cars fell out of the same mold these days. Is it a mazda, toyota, nissan etc? Almost everyone can look at a PT and know what it is. I haven't heard of any big gatherings of mazda 626's or the like either. I thinks the PT's are more of a community. When a car has that kind of quasi-cult status, you would think the manufacturer would pay more attention.
