I have to agree with the above statement...the 5-spd cars are much harder to launch and I have been drag racing for about 30 years now so I have a little experiance in launching a car. But I bought the 5-spd for the fun of shifting and the GT seems like more of a sports car with the manual trans to me.

In most of the bracket classes the automatic is king, I'd say about 90% of all bracket cars and most class cars run automatics because they are way more consistent and consistency WINS races...round after round. The advantage we do have with the 5-spd is we usually mile per hour higher, we get more HP to the road. From a rolling start or on the highway (where most of us spend the majority of our time) I'll take the 5-spd anyday[8)]

Didnt know you have a 5 speed. "Harder" in the sense that you have to practice...yes.

Stage 1 sales for the PT have been so low, that it's hard to justify the development and manufacturing cost associated with Stage 2. It's the whole target market thing. The type of person that typically buys a PT, even a Turbo, is much older than the type of person that buys an SRT-4.
I agree that the market is different between the PT and SRT;
(Not trying to argue, just stating my frustration with Mopar)

However, seeing that the development and manufacturing has already been completed for the SRT, and the parts are EXACTLY the same, just how much would it cost Mopar to re-flash some computers for the PT? I find their excuses to be overplayed... if they don't intend to bring S2 out they might as well just say so instead of beating around the bush...

A personal best of 14.0 @ 97 is enough to keep me plenty happy in my S1 Auto., but if that's what S1 could do for my car, you bet I'd be curious to know what I could do with S2...

I don't really want this but I wish they would just say "No S-2 for the PT" so I can get on with buying the S-1. I want S-2 and many others are waiting for it before they spend their money.

CAL - It seems to me that when you compare the $ per HP of the S1 vs. the $ per added HP of the S2 - I would venture to say the better buy is the S1 & you nix the S2 thought forever. Look at all the fun your missing while waiting for a point in time that may never come. [xx(]

Just a thought.

mich_132003, I agree but the wait for stage 2 is like the old chineese water troture!! What worries me is that I am starting to like the wait! My car is on lease and I turn it in or buy it next October!!
