Default Stage 2 already available???

On another forum, I saw this

Quote:

You can purchase the stage two from your local dealership but be prepared to wait a good 6 months( the SRT 4 crowd has them all !!!) Although some dealerships parts departments do not want to mess with it because of the extremely small profit margin for them.
This person bought the S2 with SRT4 turbo toys. My local dealer never called me back when I asked about Stage 1, so I doubt I'll get any answers with Stage 2. I'll try calling Wyckoff to see if it is available.

That's Stage 2 for the Dodge SRT-4, NOT the PT. Some dealers are pretty savvy about the Stage kits, some not so much. My dealer insisted that S1 for the '04 still included the injectors, and wouldn't listen to me when I tried to tell them otherwise. They also told me $425 for the kit, $250 to install it, and a minimum 4 week wait to get it!

I bought it from tthrift for about $350, got it in just over a week, installed it myself in about 20 minutes (for free, of course) and couldn't be happier!

That's what I thought, but this person was on a PT cruiser forum talking about Stage 2 for his PT GT. I'm just wondering if this guy's just blowing smoke. Here's the thread, which he states...

Can any of the dodge/chrysler employees who are a part of the forum verify this?

That's BS, if he works at a Chrysler dealership, why doesn't he use his discount to get a set of coilovers.

So what did they do with the Traction control button?
Is there a hardware difference between 5 speeds and autostick PCMs??

I thought about ordering SRT-4's Stage 2 w/o Toys and sticking it in Stage 2 and see how it runs on a GT Manual 5-Speed (of course replace the waste gate and injectors too!). Of course, I'm not that crazy to do it, yet...............

Since you have to give your VIN when ordering the Stage kit, wouldn't DCX see it as a PT and nix the deal? Or aren't they asking for VINs with Stage 2?
