My gas mileage with Stage 1, K&N drop-in, and AMX airbox-to-turbo pipe has varied very little: 21 - 24 mpg. My average is 22 mpg. Even with extended, easy (65 mph) highway driving, the GT doesn't get more than 24 mpg. These figures are based on 9K miles with the aforementioned mods.

Yeah I live in Cali, but got to say I love it here even though gas is taxed and in high demand. What a lot of you should think about is not comparing prices from one state to the other but the average increase gas has gone up in the past FOUR years in your area. In my area its an increase of 80 cents. For my business I travel almost 100 miles in a day, in a week I average 500 miles, at 2.80 a gallon and 25 MPG, thats $2,688.00 a year. Damn i commute too much. Luckily I can right that off as a tax right off, but for most that is not an option.

Gary, Are you telling us the truth?? The whole truth?? I can't get more than 24 mpg no matter how I drive!! I do not have stage 1 but I do have a K&N intake. I am replacing my plugs and plug wires and seeing if these have anything to give me in increased gas mileage!![8)]

YES. For some reason on my 04GT I am getting much better fuel economy than I did on my 03GT. It is at the high end of what I've seen posted on the forums. My "best ever" gas mieleage was obtained a week before STAGE 1 was installed on my car. Remember this thread: http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/...GT,gas,mileage

I'm not sure why I've obtained such excellent fuel ecomomy (especially at highway speeds) but I believe the following factors may have contributed to it:

1. Meticulous break-in of my new turbo engine. I followed "every rule in the book" including keeping the RPMs 4000 or less for the first 1000 miles of operation.

2. Some engines are machined/made to tighter tolerances than others. This was certainly the case with the two GT turbo cars that I have owned.

3. I'm not sure if the brand of gas makes any difference in fuel economy, however, I use exclusively Cheveron Supreme 92 octane gasoline with Techron (engine-cleaning additive).

4. Maybe, I am just plain lucky!??? [^]

BTW, I have kept very careful fuel records on my car and fill the tank only until the shut-off value comes on--no more, no less. Thus, I can say without a doubt that my gas mileage figures are accurate/correct. [|)] [8]
Oh, I almost forgot to mention the most important factor: I drive [8)] like a "true professional"! [?]
