Is the PCM that comes with the Stage 1 kit an exchange unit, or do you get to keep your old one? [:I]

There have been rumors going around, and misinformation from some dealers, that you had to trade in your factory unit. Stage 1 PCM is bolted to my firewall, Stage 0 PCM is in a box in my garage.
I couldn't agree more with PTurbed!![?] |

Just remember that you bought the stock "Stage 0" PCM with the car and you purchased the new STAGE 1 PCM as part of the upgrade-kit. Therefore, you own them both, not DC! [|)] [?] |

Some dealerships will try to get you to give them your old one because you have to order the PCM through the exchange program. The only reason for this is because the VIN's have to be coded and that is the way to order programmed stuff from chrysler. Like body controllers. After 3 weeks I finally convinced my parts manager that there was no core on the Stage 1's
If they give you a problem, go to another dealer or go through Tommy (tthrift).

Thanks guys. I just wanted a definitive answer to that question. It definitely opens up your options down the road.
New question, How do you get 230+hp to the ground without lighting up one side or the other? I'm having enough trouble now with 180! [8)]

It can be a bit tricky at times but I don't do a whole lot of WOT from a standstill on the street. Well, OK, sometimes, but not a lot. At the track I don't really have a problem either (except that one terrible day in July when I smoked 'em for maybe 100 feet or so!). In all seriousness, don't let a little (!?) thing like traction worry you.....just get Stage 1 and trust me - you'll wonder why you waited even 5 minutes to do the swap! |
