Default My Stage 1 is still in the box

It's been a while since I've ordered my Stage 1 from Tommy. Our project for getting the kit for a Euro PT and sending it over to Russia was successful (thanks to Tommy for helping me out). I was excited to install it, but it all came with a grain of salt.
The local DC rep immediately new that I ordered the kit and they informed me through the dealer that if I install it the warranty for the whole engine is automatically void regardless of the cause of the problem (by the same token mere installation of any performance part will void the warranty on everything it touches or affects). Since all warranty work is approved by the DC Russia it doesn't matter which dealer I go to, they all talk to the same guy. I spoke to the regional warranty manger on the phone and mentioned the warranty conditions stated on the Mopar site. He couldn't care less. He also said that they will print this in the warranty conditions for all 2005 cars.
Since I only have 5000 km on my car, I'm really reluctant to install the kit and other goods (I also have BOV and Hurst shifter).
I wander if DC Russia really have the power to establish their own warranty conditions towards the performance parts or should they be uniform for all DC rep offices?

DC warranty conditions are a guideline, the regional DC folks can stiffen but not go below those guideline. So, your regional DC folks can say that any mod voids the warranty. Sorry.

The only recourse you'll have is finding a dealer that will work with you and your mods (which is rare).

You can send your opinion to DCX headquarters, I hear they do read the emails, BUT its most likely get filed away to the trash can. Now if you had the power to influence how DCX sells vehicles in Russia, that'll get their ears real fast .

Mojito,

I would just install stage 1 and keep the factory PCM in the car. If you have a problem, switch it back to stock. All you need is a 10MM wrench. [}]

This may work. One question though, how often the mileage information stored in the PCM gets updated? And how quickly the stock PCM will have the actual mileage data after I put it back in?

rszappa1, I have a manual transmission, so no relearn is necessary, but the question is still valid for AT cars (I think, it was already discussed here).

Mojito,

As soon as the power is restored the milage
is updated.
Sorry the the long arm of DCX reaches that far
in regards to the warrenty issue, the stage up grade
is worth the risk. Nothing will be hurt but the wear
on the front tires, boost on my friend.

I do agree will all that was posted and have to add:
that most dealers LOVE to do warranty work because.. They will get paid by Mother DC, if you wasted your tranny and needed it to be rebuilt... and it was out of warranty... Would you really be bringing it to the dealer or would you bring it somewhere else!! I myself would bring it to a shop that did only trannys and not the dealer!!
$$$=Dealer
Most work you need done on your car is cheaper and can be better (good Shop) much then the dealerships!!!
I know New York is REAL far from where you are But, I know a few GREAT shops that I would trust my car over any dealer!!!
There is one in Conn. With a tech name john Gallagher.. He is THE BEST!!

Put it on and rock on! [?] Tell the dealer your KGB and the unit is under FULL WARRANTY. [^]
