is it a gain of turbo pressure and hp with racing fuel

Octane is a measure of how well a fuel resists preigniting or knocking. This means how hard it is to light off. It is not a measure of the power contained in the fuel. There have been many discussions and heated debates on this, but my opinion is that you should run the lowest octane necessary to avoid any knock or timing retard on a computer-controlled car. There are other factors, such as flame front speed and peak cylinder pressures, but if you can find a consistant .02 in the quarter with an octane boost, that's good. If it doesn't go faster but sounds different, smells different, or requires excuses, you went too far... the point is repeatable, measurable performance!

^agree.

Its more of a "safety" measure. Unless of course, your car is tuned to run higher octane (ie. 100+ mode on SRT S2). Otherwise, it wil ldo nothing for you. May actually lose power.
