Has anyone bought their S1 from chryslers parts dept.? why do they want your old stuff back? Do they redo your old computer and send it back. They want 400 for it and with my discount of 25% i get it for about 300. Also what is the learning thing everyone talks about.

thanks, mark[:I]
They do not get your stock pcm. The stage 1 pcm is a new pcm. Do not order it through Chrysler. $400 is a rip off. Order it from Tommy Thrift. TTHRIFT@HAYNESJEEP.COM I think his is around $340 but there is no hassle with giving up your stock pcm. The learning is if you have the autostick. You have to do a learning procedure with the tranny. If you have an '04 you can install the stage 1 pcm in about thirty minutes. It's easy.

If your car has the automatic, you must go through a transmission learning procedures after you change out the PCM. Drive VERY gently until you follow the transmission learning procedure. The dealer has the capability of doing a software transmission learn with their equipment.

I have a 2003 GT 5 speed, so i guess the learning doesn't apply to me. How much does the S1 raise boost? I ordered mine today and should have it before the end of the week. Can some one tell me how much the S1 changes 1/4 mile times? I have CAI and a 3" flowmaster single catback already. My friend has a VR6 GTI and thinks he can take me. Hopefully with S1 I will smoke him! I'll keep you posted after we go to the strip for test and tune.

thanks, Mark[8)]

I got my stage 1 in the mail today...installed her (I envy the 04 and 05 guys...no injectors to change..)
Let me get this straight. I just bought my '04 last Friday. If I want to upgrade to Stage 1, all I need is the ECU? The injectors don't need to be replaced?

Absolutely correct! The thing that remains the same is if you have the auto. Still have to do the learning procedure.

How much does just the ECU cost? I just sent an email to the jeep guy listed above, but I wanted to know what you guys were paying.
