Default Stage 1 - Another Happy One!

I had my Chrysler dealer install the Stage 1 kit last week after holding out for Stage 2 for over a year but finally realized Stage 2 wasn't going to happen from Chrysler. I really didn't expect much of an improvement since I primarily got the Stage 1 kit so that I could add the Psi-Fi Motorsports kit in the future.

Wow! Stage 1 really is a big improvement. Much more kick in 1st and 2nd gear. 60 to 80 happens in a blink. On my favorite stretch of country road where I'd hit 80 between two tight corners, I now hit 100. The exhaust note is much more burbly and raspy, especially when decellerating or between gear shifts. The BOV also sounds better.

However, I also had the dealer install the Screamin' Deamon high output coil and a set of Livewires (purchased both from Moss Motors) so I don't know how much improvement those contributed. Maybe Stage 1 also helped my underdrive pulley, Mopar 2.5" dual exhaust, and AirForce One intake come alive as well.

Anyways, I highly recommend Stage 1. Worth every penny.

Congrats on stage 1. The AGP WGA is the same if not more of a kick in the pants. The aftermarket wires helped as factory wires suck. Wish you would have asked around here about the Screamin Deamon coil as that will do nothing except look nice under the hood. The OEM coil is more than adequate. I would get the VAK ucp, AGP WGA and 2 stage boost controller if you are looking for stage 2 power.

Mean Green - thanks for your input. I didn't do much research on the coil and wires because I basically got them for free (had a large credit at Moss Motors).

I'd like to try some of your suggestions.

Damn another stage 1 rave review!! It must be good too good not to try. [8)] Is there anyone that thinks stage 1 is the pits? It just seems too good to be true. I would get it in a minute if I thought I would not have warrantee and emissions problems in So Calif testing atmosphere.

To date I have not read or heard of anyone with STAGE 1 who in unhappy with it. It simply rocks!!! [^] Furthermore, those living in California with "S1" intalled on their Cruisers have passed the emissions testing according to everything posted to date on PT Cruiser forums. Also, for it to cause an issue with the DC warranty the dealer has to prove STAGE 1 was directly the cause of "the failure". [8]

OK, I am going to get the stage 1.

I have 63,000 miles on my gt and no problems except third set of tires. Used to run through brakes but I got some slotted brembos. Seemed to be wearing much better.

so far it is a great car

Stage 1 is the pits! LOL LOL!!!! Yeah right, you'll never hear someone say that and mean it! How about this? With Stage 1, your car will be in the pits, staging pits of a race track waiting to run the 1/4 in the mid 14 second range![?] Get it, it'll make your PT feel like a totally different car. Like you upgraded to a faster, more powerful car for a $350 difference! [^]
