Default Stg. 1 and BOV ordered...

Hi all, finally got around to registering on this cool site. Been following several threads on here, lots of good information, and ppl seem really cool as well. I bought an '04 Dream Cruiser 5 speed back in Feb., and have done some mods already. I just ordered my Stg. 1 and Mopar BOV from Haynes today, can't wait to install them. I currently have a Hyperground system, K&N drop in filter, and both silencers removed. I have been reading about plugs and wires, I only have 2300 miles on my PT, but this seems like a worthwhile upgrade since I have heard many negatives about the factory plugs and wires. Also, do I need to regap my plugs when I do the Stg.1 install? I understand .041" would work better. Lastly, would the VAK UCP be the next best bang for the buck mod, or are there any other equally as effective UCPs on the market? Thanks for all you input in advance.

Actually, the factory Copper Plus plugs are fine gapped at .040 and a lot cheaper. I'm running somewhere between 270-300 hp (won't know til I dyno early next month) and factory plugs and Magnecore wires are fine. Hyperground was a good thing, too.

Welcome to the forum, Nvr2Fast. I have almost 14K miles on my GT and have experienced good results with both factory plugs and wires. However, I do plan to switch to Magnecore wires and new spark plugs gapped at .040-.042 for STAGE 1 within the year. [8D]

Hey folks, wanted to know what a Hyperground was. Can you explain it and its function?

Hyperground is a very expensive way of improving the grounding between the components (engine, electronics, body, etc) of your car. Can't hurt but if you do a search, you will find folks that have used heavier wire and made a better ground path at a much lower cost.

Yeah, mine almost broke the bank. But, it was the best $15 I ever spent...

Just installed Stg.1 and BOV vent, and I am definitely another happy customer. Unfortunately it has been raining off and on today and the roads are wet, so traction is unheard of, but still impressed so far...
