Default Stage 1 With NOS

I just put a wet ZEX Nos kit on my 2003 Turbo, and cannot keep the wheels on the ground. It is such a difference, amazing. I just ordered the Stage 1 Turbo Upgrade kit today. Anyone else have a Stage 1 Turbo with NOS? Probably not, but was just wondering if it will be okay with my NOS kit?

I started with the 55HP NOS shot, and recently changed to the 75 Shot. That's what I am worried about most, the tranny. I ordered the Stage 1, but if I want 25 more HP, I can just go to the 100 shot. Just don't want the tranny to go boom. Wonder if there is a way to make it stronger without buying a whole new transmission?

Also, I spoke to a mechanic who works on the PT Cruiser engine a lot, and he said that the motor, under normal conditions, after about 60 thousand miles, the head gaskets often blow. He was reluctant to put the NOS system in my car with the Turbo, because I was adding so much more power and stress. So, we will see.

Ken, that mechanic is full of it! I've know a few people with PT's that have way over 60k miles with no blow head gaskets. If that was true alot of the SRT-4 guys would have had problems, especially since the ones with Stage 3 is boosting at 26psi. This is an extremely well built engine, especially the turbocharger version of it. Plus a few SRT-4 guys are making 400-500hp at the wheels with the stock internals and no head gasket problems, and they are making way more power that a Stage 1 PT turbo with a 100 shot of the goof gas.

Well, I don't know that's what he told me, and he has been in the machine shop of RPM Engines for many many years here in California. He even told me why, for about 10 minutes, giving me the exact faulty stock specs of the gaskets, clearances, etc. and what exactly happens. Said he worked on that engine a lot, and had seen it over and over. He then continued with the warning that when you add a turbo, and then NOS, you are asking for trouble, and would not recommend it. They're shop did do the install, but with his warnings. Anyway, I do hope he is wrong, and that my big concern is with the tranny staying together. I should have about 310 HP after the Stage 1 install.

He couldn't have seen the turbo engine over and over again. It's onlt been out for a couple of years. It's not the same engine as a non turbo. The non turbo 2.4 is weak, especially when adding power. Yes, you will blow the auto tranny. It can't even handle 150 hp as my '01 with 80k found out.

Sorry, I know there is a nitrous maker by NOS and NOS is a generic term for nitrous. I have a ZEX wet kit. Works great. I only drive my car about once a week, so I don't go through the bottles that fast. I have two bottles and fill them both at the same time. Last for abuot 3 months. Is a little expensive, but where else are you going to get 100 extra HP for about $600? Problem is keeping the tires on the ground. After I get the Stage 1 installed, and am going to take it to the track and run it in the quarter mile.
