Default Functioning side pipes

I want to have functioning side pipes for my PT.

http://www.revelenterprises.com/pt_c...tter_pipes.htm

They look like they install from the Cat, then loop to the sides of the car. Who has intalled these units (pics?) and how do they sound? Any street legal issues I need to concern myself with? Thanks in advance for your replies.

My friend from Orlando has put them on. They sound good from the outside and he says they aren't loud from inside. This is the only pic I have of his cruiser.

Wyckoff has them for $100 cheaper

As for the pipes you need to check local laws, as most states require the exhaust to exit after the rear suspension, with trucks being an exception.

I saw something on a chevy truck that had the side pipes on and was incorporated into an aeroskirt so the pipe was hidden except for the end. Really looked pretty cool. Could be less painfull also.

It could be less painful, but I like that chrome look. Very reminiscent of the muscle car days of the 60's and 70's.

I would say go to summitracing.com and get their universal side-pipes for about a third of the price, if I recall, and have a muffler shop install them.

According to the EPA, the PT [u]is</u> a truck.

Really, a truck? Does that mean I can have the exhaust go up past the door? [] Anyway, I need to see if there is a website that has the vehicle laws for Maryland. I'm hoping for the best. *crosses fingers* Maybe I'll just flag down a cop. [:I]
