Espresso,

I'm not looking for anything right now. I have one being delivered by UPS tomorrow. I did see the fans exactly like your talking about (and they may be OK) but I wanted the Chrysler part. They are all imitations of the original fan and even quote the OEM Chrysler part number but I was OK paying more for the OEM part.

Anyone else that runs into the same problem may want to go for the aftermarket fan module if they're doing it themselves. Thanks for the search.

New fan module cam this afternoon by UPS. Hooked it up straight 12V to make sure it was good, then put it into the cruiser. Buttoned everything up, filled with new 50% anti-freeze and distilled water and turned it on. Temp went to half way, fan came on and everythings fine. Back on the road again!

Congrats, crewzin, and thanks for the warning. The relays can always be saved (in the car, of course) for later needs. There are many relays, and only 3-5 designs. Make sure which are the style you have, and you can figure out which ones they can be used to replace.

Purple04,

That's not hard with the cruiser. There's 7 relays in the black box in the engine compartment and it looks like all of them have the same number (05269988AA). [:I]

I had the same problem, but the relays checked out and when I put 12 volts to the fan it turned but the low speed side of fan did not work. Got a new fan and my girl down at the dealershiped noted that the part number for 01s has changed twice since they can out. I have talked to other peeps witht the same issue and seems as though this is an issue.

Seems like I was the first one to report a problem with the fan, but hundreds of others are having the same problem. The forums that I posted on all have someone coming back saying they too had a problem and a 300+ back-order of fans at the dealer says a whole lot about the quality of these fans.

I'm not sure if I have a problem or not. Our cooling fans apparently have multiple speeds that are controlled by a sensor somewhere. When I turn on my air conditioning, the fan goes into high speed and does not stop until I turn off the air or turn off the engine. If I turn off the air, it takes about 40 seconds for the fan to return to it's normal operating speed. I always wait for the fan to return to normal speed before turning off the engine.
Are these common characteristics of the PT or do I have something amiss?
