Default My Cruiser just died HELP

I have an 01 cruiser purchased brand new in 00. 109,xxx miles. It was driving fine - no funny noices or anything, I make a right hand turn onto my street and the engine just died. It has never done this before. The battery is fine but the engine doesn't turn over - doesn't even have a turning sound. Kind of like if you disconnect the battery and try to turn it over... but the radio is on. Any advise? A fuse, alternator, etc

Check to see if you have voltage at the starter.

It would take longer to type out instructions than to do the basic checks. Like JSB said, check for voltage at the starter and 'start signal' there too. That will get you to the wiring branch that is causing the problem. Keep checking that circuit until the fault is found.

First of all, take a deep breath and relax. It's probably something simple (cheap to fix).

It could still be the battery or battery cable conection. The radio does not pull much power. Headlight strength is a better place for a fast, first check. Next would be the other wiring connections in the starting and ignition systems.

Sorry that I can't be more help. Good luck with it.

First start with checking the oil. (If you ran it out of oil it will stop and never turn over) (Also check the radiator fluid. If your head gasket leaked, you cylender might be full of antifreeze which does not compress and thus you cannot turn engine over)

Then check the starter (bypass the ignition system and it should turn over)

If starter turns, then check fuses, ignition switch (things like that)

Is it a 5-sp? It also could be the clutch safety switch.

Just some things to check on.

Sounds like the ignition switch. If it were the starter, engine wouldn't have died while running.
Most engine-related things would've triggered a check engine light.
Also check fuses - particularly those in engine compartment.
