Last week while getting a hitch installed, I was offered a deal on a dual exhaust system. The installer had a Gibson dual exhaust sitting in the showroom. Apparently, this unit had been on a PT show car that the owner had sold, and since the guys know me there, they offered to install it for $300. The unit has chrome tips, and enables me to keep my spare in place. I never heard of Gibson exhausts before...any good? And is this a good "deal" to get a dual with installation for $300. [8)]

Gibson is a great company that does alot with chevy only stuff, as well as several diesel products from chips to exhaust and intakes.
Definatly a company with a solid rep. However I bet you get an old school cross flow muffler with twin rust in a year 2.5" slash cut tips you see on evey F-150 and Z-71 on the streets.

Well a little bad news, the exhaust wouldn't fit well on my PT, says the shop owner. Oh, yeah, it will fit on other PTs with no problem, as long as they don't have a PTeazer hidden hitch. Turns out that the dual exhaust would have to hang lower than a Holstien's udder to avoid rattling against the hitch frame, which was happening to my stock exhaust. They had to lower my stock exhaust about an inch because the rattling was driving me insane (I don't get how these kids driving Honda Civics with "f@rt cans" howling at 2500 rpm can have a decent conversation with their mothers.) My PT is now whisper quiet, just the way my sleepy one year old daughter likes. Well, maybe I'll save my money for a Willpak with one of Rachel's interior inserts...Sexay!
