If you are going with the air box model, remove that stupid intake silence at the top of the airbox. It is a little white tube like thing at that top of the air box, it slides right out. You will get a little better gas milage.

MY OPINION:
Cold air & flow are what you want. The stock does suck air from the wheel-well, which is cooler, but is restrictive.
The best intake (opinion) is the K&N FIPK. Next is BTG, then AirAid, then the rest.
The K&N replaces more of the intake tract, has a bit of a heat shield, but is also expensive.
I feel that once you are moving, the temperature difference between underhood and wheelwell air is MUCH smaller than when you're stopped, and then flow becomes important.
Keep your eyes on the Classifieds area - many folks trading in a PT take off their mods - I got a great deal on an FIPK from a Forum member.

From experience, the AiRaid 2001 - 2005 does not fit the 2006's. DC has modified the air box and made it smaller. Does it help?? [:I] I cannot tell so far [:I]. AiRaid hasn't manufactured one for the '06 at this time as they didn't know about the change until I told them.[xx(]
