Default Shift balls for manual transmission.....

Why can't i EVER find shift knobs for the manual transmission. I want an red one for my aunts cruiser. I would not mind a gold one for mine either. But i am not having any luck, when i did find and order one they quit making them and my order was cancelled. SO if you could help me out i would love it........

I put in the Hurst shifter.... and a whole world of options opened up.

I chose the classic J.C.Whitney 8-ball.

I got this from Big Em Enterprises for my dream cruisers - it's an automatic but they had them for manuals. Excellent quality!

Many aftermarket shifter balls come with plastic sleeves now to fit any shaft diameter. If the fit is tight enough, you don't have to use the set screws although it is recommended. PT owners that don't want to change to an aftermarket shifter or be limited in selection with PT specific shifter balls, find that pressing on one of the universal shifter balls of there choice is just as good.

Personally, I installed a Hurst Shifter and had Bruce Roosa of KoolKnobs, custom make a couple of shifter balls for me. Sent him some factory paint (to match the exterior color) and a few pins to be molded in and I had what I wanted.
